hi all - stumbled upon the forum after shopping in a local games store and someone mentioned i should check it out - glad i did!

was close to buying some chips as i am hoping to be able to host some home games soon but glad i held off to see what i might be able to pick up here.

curious to see if there are any other canadians on the board here..cheers

nice one pippa! centennial grad by chance?

i am looking for some chips with that casino feel (my early research tells me paulson / trk is what im looking for). mostly for home games with some buddies - dont mind lower denoms as we usually play cash games.

lol nice vanislander! im also a whiskey buff and for BC liquor releases i am drooling at the Fort St inventory! lol

allforcharity - thanks for checking in. old enough to remember the north burnaby inn by chance? lol

Hell ya! Im Canadian and I'm full of the sickness! Here to help and host (hopefully someday)

Welcome to the forum friend! I'm out in Mission, the sticks I know.

However, if you ever made it to one of my games, the chips and tables will be well worth it!

Chilliwack here. Last time I counted, there were over 25 members in LM/FV (if you include Whistler). There is talk about getting a meetup together once Covid goes away.

Coquitlamite here
nice to know - coquitlam express ftw! looking for centennial grads still..

Welcome! I'm not from Cananada though, I live in your basement about an hour south of the peace arch crossing.

I hear you all's fine country might let me come to Whistler this winter....a winter meet up in the Whistler area wouldn't suck. I'll bring some dead money. ;)

@JScott

Ye been called....I'll bring a guest set too!!!!

Nice!.

I would like to do this with my current table build. I've done the same with a cheap piece of velveteen, so it's good to know speed cloth does the same, as I'd like to use speed cloth instead.

I was thinking about attaching snap fasteners to the cloth and the table instead of using a draw string. Do you think it would work with the speed cloth? Or is drawstring the way to go?

also - how do you attach your rails?

Welcome and get ready to empty your wallet!

I remember the NBI. Anyone old enough to remember the Coach House in North Van?

Wow lots of people in the lower mainland. We should have a chipaholic support group meeting in Thursdays or something ;)

Well if this thread is going to devolve into a discussion of defunct peeler bars (NBI, CH so far), how about the Wild Duck Inn (near the Pitt Meadows Bridge,) the Fraser Arms (Marine Drive near Granville) , the Blue Boy (Marine at Fraser), the Biltmore (Kingsway at 12th), the Ivanhoe/Cobalt/American (Main near Georgia Viaduct), and probably a few others. And yes, I am old enough to remember them all with varying degrees of fondness
