Well that was short-lived. Started getting an 07 error code (Jonesy?) and no display

Typically indicates faulty RAM, but found a post where someone discovered the memory controller on the CPU was bad and causing no display or post issues, and switching out the CPU solved it

Given the one I got from eBay had that yellow repair sticker I'm assuming it is the culprit

So going to return for a refund and wait for new Ryzens to drop next month plus sales and get one from NewEgg

Ugh. Sorry for the run bad.

In other news, I FINALLY got around to getting my dance shots filmed. Now I just need to take care of all the editing and put the video together.

You even clash bro??!!

In my first video I wasn't kidding when I said I dominated the Mo-Bile gaming arena

Neighbors across the street. Constant deliveries, today was about 8 of these pallets. From a semi. Finally got a look, all packaging was hardware and some comp. companies like dell.

Hours later, UPS is coming by twice to pick up 3-4 boxes (not pallets). Great, I moved next door to flippers. Fuck that.

While everyone is trying to beat the scalper bots to purchase new graphics cards, I just bought myself this beast:

MSI Optix 34" 3440 x 1440 UWHD Curved 144Hz 1ms monitor.

Gotta wait for Nov 5th and will try to get my hands on the new Ryzen 5900x, but if not I'll likely just buy a 3900x since they're both 12-cores and that way I can get the new rig running.

And my 8GB GTX 1080 should suffice until the insanity over the new graphics cards die down. Plus it will give time for AMD to release their new ones they just showcased, Nvidia to answer with the Super or Ti variants they're holding back and reviews to come out so I know what's the best bang for the buck.

Also did some editing on my dance-off video against Dr Disrespect. Still have quite a bit of work to do but made progress at least.

So been seeing a lot of sponsored posts on Facebook from companies promoting products that no one can buy because they sell out within a second of becoming available on their sites due to scalper bots buying them all up at launch time, so had to make a meme

I did, however, catch a lucky break the other day. I was scrolling through NewEgg and one small thing they've done to combat bots is to put some of the newer cpu's and gpu's into bundles, rather than just selling them seperately.

So I managed to come across one with a new RTX 3070 on it and was able to buy it, should be arriving soon!

Right now I'm working on transferring files from my old system to the new one I built, got the 12-core Ryzen 3900XT in it, plus 32GB of RAM. For the time being I'm keeping my GTX 1080 8GB card in it, and will be trying to snag the new 16GB AMD 6800, 6800XT or 6900XT cards if I can luck out. Although given the size of my case and that I had to mount the AIO radiator on the front I may not even have clearance and may need to find a smaller card (maybe a founders edition 3070 or something)

But anyhoozen, in addition I'm also building Jenn a new Hello-Kitty themed PC (I opted to not mess with a theme right now on mine). She loves Christmas so I'm adding that as part of the theme as well. She's getting at least an 8-core Ryzen 3800X (already have it in hand) but may get her a 5000 series Ryzen if I'm able to snag one.

I believe the RTX 3070 I bought will fit her case, but it may be tight, going to try and make it work. So she'll get a pretty sweet upgrade as well, going from 4-core CPU to 8-core and from 6GB GPU to 8GB that is on par with the previous gens 11GB RTX 2080 Ti.

Christmas is coming early to the Martino household this year!

Once I get my files transferred I can start mucking around on the new 12-core system and get my butt back to video editing my next USAnumberWON video. Plus start testing the streaming capability of my jump from 4 cores to 12 cores.

nice slight upgrade to my 970, how much you want for it? :D

I'm still using it with my new PC until I can find an upgrade. But then was going to wipe and sell my old system because it's themed like a Police Interceptor and the GPU has a custom backplate made for it and the theme

I think you should be able to find a GTX 1080 8gb on eBay for $250-300 but probably not a great price given the new stuff coming out

The RTX 3070 we snagged was $579 and delivers RTX 2080 Ti level performance

yeah I wasn't being too serious. honestly the 970 still does fine for me, I have no intention to upgrade past 1080p resolution right now, and I've yet to throw any games at it that it couldn't handle to my low-ish standards. the next big one I expect to care about is most likely elden ring or titanfall 3, so I will reevaluate as necessary at such time.

I used to play BF3 at 1080p on a 2gb Radeon 7870 without any issues back in the day

There are plenty of 8gb cards like the RX580 or a 6gb GTX 1060 at reasonable prices to upgrade to

Holy schnikes my new system is fast! So I went from a quad-core Intel i5-7600k cpu to the 12-core Ryzen 3900XT. I just opened a fairly big video clip in my editing program.

In the past it took quite awhile to load/process it, so that the audio came through for editing it. But with my new system is just flew through loading the clip. REALLY impressed. Still wish I had gotten my hands on the newer Ryzen 5900x cpu, but either way a HUGE improvement and will make editing stuff a lot easier.

I also noticed when playing COD Warzone that the game felt smoother on the new cpu, even though I'm still using my GTX 1080 graphics card.

Anyway, going to be working on my next video finally, looking forward to making some progress.

I know it's taken way too long, but I made a shit-ton of progress today on the next video and it's on target to release sometime next week, w00t w00t!

So just a quick update. I'm back playing COD Warzone (and hoping Battlefield 6 will return that series to its glory days) and doing better than ever in the Rebirth Resurgence Quads (my last match scored 7 kills and been taking a lot of top 5 spots, including many 2nd and 3rds plus some outright victories)

Managed to do some testing and figured out for recording footage of me playing and capturing me on video at the same time I needed to switch to have Streamlabs OBS utilize my 12-core CPU rather than leaning on my RTX 3070 graphics card, which needs to be focused on the game since I'm doing it all in 3440x1440 resolution so it's pretty intense.

As I improve I'm starting to consider bringing ol' Cleetus back, perhaps capturing real clips of me in character goofing on randoms in chat.
