EDITED TO ADD OTHER PCF-ERS' SUGGESTIONS - NOV 18 2025 (will update as needed)

Wondering which NLHE vloggers you all watch for the purposes of learning the game / hand analysis / strategy at the low stakes (ideally $2-$3 or $1-$2). This isn't about "entertainment" really. It's about clear commentary and logic to improve my own play. Also, looking for the "we are sitting with the vlogger" style as opposed to live streams where you can see the opponents' holdings. (Yes, I've seen older threads on this topic, but there's a lot of change as the vloggers move up in stakes or become live streamers etc.)

Some folks I watch already or have seen and think are good (all on YouTube):
  • NorCal Poker
  • Doug McCusker
  • The very old Mariano vids (he got way too big in terms of stakes after a year or so)
  • Aero (hate his 90s style sex/penis/lesbian/race jokes... and he's extremely egotistical. Usually plays $2-$5 which is a bit too big for my goals ATM. But he is very good)
  • Babbo for when he plays lower stakes (but he doesn't put out much and seems to have fallen off)
  • Jonathan Little (a teacher, not as much of live hands being played. Very good material. He gets very annoyed with dumb questions/users who ask him questions [these are prerecorded live streams very often] but it's worth it. Also, he has content for lower stakes and higher stakes, live and online, tournaments and cash games, so make sure you find exactly what area you're focused on before listening. He knows GTO but throws it largely out the window at the lower stakes in favor of adaptive play [my term for exploitative])
  • Bart Hanson of Crush Live Poker (make sure you're listening to content applicable to your specific game, esp if you're lower stakes like I am ATM)
  • James Sweeney AKA Split Suit AKA Red Chip Poker (he's somewhere between Jonathan Little and a live hand reviewer; good macro concept work for low stakes players, a little GTO in there)

Other suggestions plus any commentary *if* I know them:
  • Blackrain79 (I don't feel like his stuff applies well to live poker, which is what I play. Just my 2 cents)
  • Hungry Horse (live poker, often $2-$5, very aggressive. Saving this for if/when I'm more in those stakes, feels a bit premature at my current stakes)
  • Brad Owens (when I saw a few of this vids, it looked like he went high stakes pretty fast, so I only checked out a few early ones)
  • Live Poker Guide - Andreas Wagner
  • Jason Bell (I saw a few vids and he seemed more like a normal player who recorded his hands, rather than a crusher teaching us the way to have a huge win rate... but maybe I didn't watch enough?)

Other folks I've checked out are low on the "teaching/learning" part, or their presentation is so bad it's too hard to follow. I've already read and reread a ton of highly recommended books as well so vloggers are my next step in learning.

Thanks for any thoughts you all have!

First you might start with WHICH game you want to learn, not all members are holdem players, some of us have a distinction of being gamblers, degens, and players ;)

I think most of the members here would be more inclined to offer a book recommendation, than a youtuber - you might not like his content, he only covers 'advanced games' but I enjoy PokerJesus, yeah I said it right, PokerFuckingJesus not that woke @Anthony Martino channel  (which is almost as good)

I stated NLHE in the title but will put in the post body too. I've read a ton of highly recommended books so the vloggers are the next step. Thanks for the suggestion, will check out!

A few others to consider (might need to search within their videos them for specific smaller stakes content) - however they don’t really vlog. I think you’ll struggle to find a lot at that level since it’s hard to make a living/return at those stakes, but the principles can be the same:

1. Blackrain79
2. Jonathan Little
3. Hungry Horse

Avoid obviously the rampages/wolfgangs etc.

GL!

if I can't be crusty and channel my inner OMC, what am I doing with my life? Don't judge me!

I like Brad Owen's analysis in his videos. Can get a little misreggy when he gets coolered, but I find his insight and analysis helpful

Bart Hanson of CrushLivePoker does daily hand reviews on his YouTube channel that I've found very thoughtful. More focus on $5 blind games than $2 or $3 blind games, but the advice applies across the board, and he's good about separating stuff that makes sense at lower versus higher stakes.

CLP has a membership program that seems to offer some value as well, but the free clips on YouTube are quite good and easy to follow.

1) For exclusive 1/2 and 1/3 low stakes live poker instruction I like:
Live Poker Guide (Andreas Wagner) on YouTube.
It’s not a “play-a-hand” channel, but more like “Jonathan Little for low stakes” and exploitative play since most opponents at those stakes are not GTO-centric. Go back and look at some of the stuff he’s done over the past year or two, especially the super-long (3-hour?) multi-part cumulative one he put out. I’ve found it very helpful, practical, and has helped me boost my win rate.

2) Jason Bell - Poker on YouTube.
This is a nice 1/2 & 1/3 play-a-hand vlog. He usually plays out of his home casino in Texas with occasional trips to Vegas. Good descriptive narration on how he ranges his opponent’s hands which is a very helpful demonstration of how to do this if your not doing it already.

This is kinda off, but hear me out. Daniel Negreanu's blog is pretty dang good. It's geared more toward the high stakes games, but you'll find most of it still applies. He's a true degenerate. He talks way too much, and it took me a bit to get past that, but he is good. I've picked a great deal watching him. Once you get more table time, you will find that the GOOD low stakes players play similarly to the high stakes guys. You'll also find that it is very easy to overthink things. What you'll notice about Negreanu is: he is still actively learning. He's been around 30 years now. He knows old-school, new-school, internet, exploitive, optimal - everything and every game. Adjust to the table. At the end of the day, reading people by their mannerisms, bet-sizing etc. gets you the most live success. A little luck never hurts either.
