The Redneck Poker Card Database (5 Viewers)

Bee "77" (Plastic - Made in Spain)

Kind of a boring update, but, what the h*ll....

Out of date, but can be found occasionally on eBay, these no different than the rest of USPC's Fournier/Bike Prestige/Spanish-made decks.

Added to the database: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/resources/the-redneck-poker-card-database-2-0.76/

Yes! I knew it! The card stock of the deck I received was cut strangely though. It's almost sharp, like it makes a noise when dragged along the felt to pick up and peek at the cards.

Did you come across any other colors besides red of these?

MODIANO ELEMENTS
Step One: A HUGE shout-out & thanks to @redeagle for getting out after the craziest storm path I've ever seen worm it's way around & over south Florida to shoot a set of these long forgotten cards up to the frozen northern wilderness. The man rocks!

As a result, we now know which of their card stocks Modiano used when they did printing for Guild. :D

Specs are a match, & in the database: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/resources/the-redneck-poker-card-database-2-0.76/

I really like this back design. And I love the feel of Modianos. What colors do these come in? Where can they be purchased?

The Elements line is no longer produced, & hasn't been for over a decade I believe. But, the same stock is currently used for Guild.

If it's color variety you want, the "Texas Poker" line comes in 10 colors, & is the same stock the original Desjgn decks were done with.

Red, Light/Dark Blue, Light/Dark Green, Black, Gray, Purple, Orange & Brown.

Can be found on eBay & Amazon. This Amazon seller has all colors except Black & Brown.

I have looked at the Texas Poker line, but If I understand your database correctly, they are more stiff than other Modiano cards, correct? I may check out a setup of the Guild.

Guilds are stiffer than the Modiano Texas Poker line. The Texas Poker's are some of the most flexible cards out there.

If you're interested & haven't bought yet....

In goofing around on Amazon, I found the TX Poker decks as a set, with plastic case & cut card even.... for $13/set & free shipping. Heck of a better deal than the usual $10ea.

Brown/Black: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LT7X0CW/

This particular seller is one I've ordered from a few times in the past (Guild set & CCP set). Ships quick & what you see is what you get.

Yea, higher = softer on the flex scale.

The "flex number" is the number of degrees the card flexes with 9.5gr of weight attached to the end of it. here's the original pic...

Yes, I read all that some time ago. Just had a brain fart yesterday... (senioritis)

Those seem to start coming at an alarming rate don't they? :ROFLMAO:

I'm in the shop a couple weeks ago.... obviously looking for something. My wife asks, "what are you looking for?"

Me: A screwdriver I had in my d*mn hand just 10 minutes ago.

Her: You mean the one sticking out of your back pocket?

:banghead:  :whistling:

ZERO / NTP Blackjack / DalNegro Texas Poker

Zero are hard to get in N.America but a few fresh decks finally made it to me across the Atlantic thanks to the combined efforts of @Thomacetti, @JMC9389, & @Geremie.

Also, a special thanks to @ChaosRock for the slightly used preview deck he sent me.

These are basically a custom print on DalNegro's "Texas Poker" stock. A DN "Monkey Back" without the monkeys on the backs or the Italian "Fat Spades".

Also, in this exact same category are NTP BlackJack.

They're a medium to medium-soft flex (15.5) PVC card with a Matte finish front & back.

The differences....

DN TxPoker = Bright Red hearts/diamonds - Bold Large Blackjack/Small Jumbo Pips - Fat Spade
NTP BJ = Security Red hearts/diamonds - Bold Jumbo Pips - Sharp Spade
ZERO = Security Red hearts/diamonds - Non-Bold Large Jumbo Pips - Sharp Spade

Zero.jpg

TOP: ZERO | BOTTOM: NTP(left) / DN TxPoker(right)
If I had t pick a favorite I guess I'd opt for the NTP if only for the fact that the font used is bolder than the Zero, & the simpler back design.

Neder Poker
It's no big secret that in my book "softer = better". So, when @surfik sent me a deck of Tobago Casino cards on Cartamundi's "Casino Branded" stock, I immediately went on a quest to find where I could get my hands on something done on the same card stock in a different color, so I could make sets.

Three swings & three misses is called a strikeout. So leave it to that guy in the clean-up slot of the lineup, @Thomacetti to step up to the plate & knock it out of the park while I watch from the bench. :ROFLMAO:

These are a dead match to the Tobago Casino cards right down to the pip font used. https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/the-redneck-poker-card-database.52229/post-1154573

As always specs up in the database: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/resources/the-redneck-poker-card-database-2-0.76/

& now I need to get more Tobagos off Surfik. :D

So, how do we get these Neder Poker cards? (says the guy who keeps telling himself to stop ordering cards!)

OK. to contribute something serious, I have to tell you that Cartamundi cards are very very pleasant to deal (with) and very durable.
My best man
(don't fuckin' know how that sounds in English; we 're not a criminal organisation; I 've just been a "witness" (in progressive terms) in his wedding; I had even been responsible for introducing the eventual bride to him);
produced these a decade or more ago.
Unfortunately, only one type of back, so there can be no twin "sets".

Got any extras? What does the card back look like?

Don't know which contractual relations my best man had at that time in the past, but here is the back of the cards:

Hey..... I'm not done with this marathon yet. :ROFLMAO:

Pokah Wonkah

OK, yes, the name is goofy. No argument there. But, if you can get past that, I think I might have found another PVC card that has won me over besides Angel.... well.... OK, let's make that 2 hurdles you need to get over.... here's the 2nd one...

But first, let's get something out of the way... DO NOT READ THIS NEXT PART STANDING UP!!!! If you do and end up falling down & hitting your head it's not my fault.... you were warned. So.... sitting down?.... OK, good, here we go.....

These are indeed PVC cards, not Cellulose-Acetate. & no, they are not bathed in gold dust, or been produced by, and only touched by, the delicate hands of naked virginal angels .... in fact, they're produced on Copag's Texas Hold'Em stock. Now, as good as that may be compared to Copag's other usual suspects, you may have a hard time justifying a price of the equivalent (as I write this) of $18.25 USD per deck.... BEFORE shipping across the Atlantic.

I'll give you a minute to digest that & recompose yourself........

...............

waiting.gif

...............

Have you regained your composure yet?..... OK.... let's continue.....

So, what do I like so much about 'em? Well, they are on Copag's Texas Hold'Em stock. Which has a much nicer finish than everything else they churn out. It's an actual true Linen finish. They are also a tad thicker which makes 'em a bit stiffer as well (17 vs 19) which pushes 'em up into medium-soft territory. But, I can live with that for this next reason.

As a rule, I HATE "peek index" cards. With a passion. What always happens with peek index cards is the addition of the peek index means the regular index gets pushed further down the side of the cards. So, if you're too old to use the peek index you have to look halfway down the side of the cards to tell what the h*ll you're holding. If you're not familiar with this particular crime.... here's an example of the worst peek index offenders....

peek.jpg

With no suit pips below the rank, if you get dealt the 9 of spades & a black ace never mind needing to look halfway down the side, you have to basically look at the whole d*mn card to see if you're suited or not. Apologies to those of you with eagle-vision, but, what a cluster-f*ck trying to play with these would be for me & most others in the "knocking on the door of 60" set.

Well, these guys came up with what I consider an awesome solution. In a bit of thinking "outside the box", why not put the peek indexes on the opposite corners of the standard index?

PW_faces.png

If you're askin' me, that's an ingeniously simple solution to an annoying problem. I love it. I don't care if you're 19 or 99, you have a choice that you can read.

Also, they've used Cartamundi's awesome "Casino" font.... & with bright red ink even.

The back design comes in your choice of 4 colors (left to right) Warm Black, Bronzetone, Mulberry Wood, or Thatch Green.

PW_colors.png

Normal price would cost you just shy of a Bennie to get 4 decks across the pond. I got a "Black Friday" deal of 4 decks for the price of 3, but that still ended up costing me nearly $80 USD shipped.

If you can get past the price & the name doesn't put you on tilt, I think these are the best PVC cards on the planet at the moment. & for the price, they certainly ought to be.
