Quick explanation as to why there is such a wide array of denominations, and why there is both a $20 and a $25.

  • First, I only started playing poker regularly about 4-5 years ago. I only played with family and very inexperienced friends. So ALL my cash sets have nickel chips. I love to have an informal game with friends and family where we can play all night long and nobody wins or loses more than $50-60, and typically much less.
  • Currently my favorite stakes are 25c/50c. I still like to keep buy-ins and rebuys low - usually $40 buy in with rebuys in $20 increments. For these stakes, I prefer that my high value chip is a $20 rather than a $25.
  • I'm moving soon to what I hope will be my final home through retirement. As I play more and more regular poker, there is no telling what stakes I might get comfortable with in the near future. Since I've put a lot of thought and love into this design, I want the set to grow with me as I grow. For my first order I will purchase a set that is heavy on 25c, $1 and $5 chips. I'll have a rack or so of $20s, 3-5 barrels of $100s, and a barrel of $500s just for fun! Initially I will skip the $25s.
  • Later on, if my games grow, I know that the bigger games play better with $25s. I would rather have all my chips produced in the same run, just to avoid any color variations that can occur with add-ons. So a later order for two racks of $25s, and more $100s could be placed. I'm less worried about color variations on a black chip than with most of the other colors.
  • Some notes on colors: Green nickel and green $25 will never be in play at the same time
  • There is a lot of yellow/peach/ark yellow. I don't think it will cause any major dirty stack issues due to the wide variation in base colors and the chips that will be on the table together. But feel free to comment.
That's it. This is Texas Flood Poker Club. Comments are welcome, but I suspect this is pretty darned close to a final design. Now I just have to wait out the next CSQ run. Hopefully these will be in play sometime in 2024.
Life came along and slapped a big halt on this project. But with the announcement this past weekend that the future of CPC may be in limbo, I think it's time to push it back up to the top of the list. I'll be contacting @Johnny5 soon to see about finalizing inlay art. (not much left to do)

As I've continued playing poker more and more regularly, I keep getting more comfortable with higher stakes. Plus with the uncertainty of getting custom made clay in the future, I imagine I'll go ahead and order a complete set all at once, including the $25s.

Since the above post, I've tweaked the colors a bit. Biggest change is deciding to go with DG Tiger as the base color for the $5, and updating the spot colors. Here is where I currently stand.

The big final decision is whether to stick with the Circle Square mold, or switch to the newly made available Ewing mold. I realize ewing is pretty vintage and my colors and inlay are very modern. That's the only drawback I can think of, and I think I can live with that. Happy to entertain other thoughts.

When I get a little closer to placing an order, I will offer a pre-sale for sample sets. Don't know if the demand will be strong or not, but I do know a few have said they will be interested, so I want to be sure I get enough chips to meet that demand.

I hope they are the Texas Flood inlays!

Yes, The image is in the quoted post, but I'll post it here just for clarity. For some reason, the inlay I loaded up into the CPC tool last year was lost, and I haven't bothered to reload it. But these will be the inlays. Just on the updated colors above.

For those of you who have been following my journey, I'm working on a new Dealer Button using my SRV theme. @TheOffalo has knocked out some GREAT designs for me. I think I know which one (maybe two?) I like best and am going to have made. But happy to hear thoughts or new suggestions from any of you.

FYI, I don't mind having extras made for anyone who might want one. So let me know in your comments which one you like best, and if you would be willing to buy. Not sure the cost yet, but these will be the standard 60mm ceramic buttons from BR Pro Poker.

I would be happy with any of the designs but the 4th and 3rd are my favorites in that order. Count me in for one please. Whichever design you choose I would be happy to have one! They look great!!!!

I like #4 best and also #2. I'm getting either #2 or #4 from a few others privately, so I am going to make both of them.

This will happen pretty fast. Order should be submitted within about a week, so if you want one, or both - speak up. I'll take confirmed interest from this thread or a DM. I'll try to give everyone a couple days notice when I have a firm cutoff date.

These are cool. Need one. #4 is probably my favorite also.

Preliminary order count. @TheOffalo yours are free of charge for creating the design.
Looking good! For pricing, I'm estimating my cost to be slightly under $7, so let's say $7.50 per button before reshipping.

If we manage to get enough orders in combination with the other DBs I'm ordering (for Faro Dunes and Imperial Pacific Saipan) for a bigger discount with BR Pro, the final price might drop by a dollar, but base your purchasing decision on $7.50 per button (it won't be higher than that).

Reshipping will be a separate cost. If you're also getting FD or IPS DBs then I can ship these in combination with your order. Otherwise @TX_Golf_N_Poker will do the reshipping.

FYI - With additional orders that have come in between the FD, IPS, and these designs, we now qualify for a bigger bulk discount. So the price is now $6.50 per button, before reshipping.

These are being ordered by the end of this week. If not on the list below, and you want one or more of these, please let me know by Midnight Thursday July 10th. We met the MOQ for the $6.50 price per button, plus shipping to you.

Peter will collect from @Himewad and @brewdawg

I will DM the rest of you for payment. Houston guys, I will deliver at Eric's next game after I receive them. I think $5-6 should cover shipping for two buttons. Let's say $6, and if it's less, I'll refund you.
