I just customized my pelican 1620 pick and pluck foam to snugly store 3 levels of 2 rows of 8 chip boxes on their sides for a total of 4800 chips. I have about 4400 - it's rediculously heavy, but fairly compact and very secure.

Pics to follow.

On the one hand, cool! Looking forward to pics.

On the other, why? That many chips in a single Pelican container seems a bit much for transport purposes unless you have a lift on the vehicle and/or two folks handling it.

Well, if my wife didn't kill me - I'd probably buy more for chip storage, then move chips to birdcages before using. As it stands she was wondering why I was using such an expensive case...(she got it for me for Christmas). I'm thinking that I'll keep my high value chips in there and drive them for my next move - movers can box others. Also, I have a thing for Pelican cases...

For now, I have it filled with my TH&C World set (~2300), Aztar Spotted Tourney (~860), Aztar Solid Tourney (400), and Argosy solids (600). Other contenders are: Palms Solids, Bahamia (Cash+Solid Tourney), Hard Rock LV Hotstamped Paulsons, Casino Miami, Crystal Park, and others.

That looks like it would work for pure storage but I would hate to have to lug/move it very far, even room to room. :(

If you are just storing the chips then pulling out what you need for the nights play them it would be good.

It has sturdy wheels, but a relatively flimsy plastic pop out lever arm. They stack of I could lift it without killing myself.
