Been taking a dive into some notable movies I’ve never seen recently. Watched Blow Out from Brian De Palma today, great flick. I’ve been super into the neo-noir stuff.

If you Jeff Bridges fans have never seen Star Man or Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, they are must see movies

Saw One battle after another the other day. The first 45 minutes or so were good, then it’s the usual: poorly written characters that we’re supposed to care about, but don’t. Some cringe comic relief scenes and a complete waste of Benicio del Torro.

It wasn’t horrible - the 2 hours and 40 something minutes didn’t feel like it - but it certainly was no masterpiece either.

Watched Blow Out from Brian De Palma today, great flick.

Enjoyable remake/reimagining, but it's also from that horrendous De Palma period where every freaking movie starred his (often miscast) wife.

Hey Brian, Peter Bogdanovich and Cybill Shepherd want their schtick back.

Finally found time to watch Oppenheimer yesterday. Could also have been a snoozer but I’m glad there’s one director one can still count on.

It's worth a watch imo. That said, I had to watch it twice for it to start to make sense. I've seen it a few times now and I find that I appreciate the film a little bit more each time.

Maybe I should give it a try then. I’m a big Nolan fan and love everything else he’s done
