Has anyone seen "The Shape of Water"? Guillermo del Toro kinda fell off my radar for a while, but I was absolutely blown away by Pan's Labyrinth, and he was on board for the longest time to be the director of the Hobbit series before MGM bankruptcy hit. Oscar buzz is huge. Worth it?

Saw Black Panther today. Really good, really fun. Well made and an important movie. I wanted more from the climax and more of Killmonger, but alas... Right now it sits at #7 on my MCU movie list.

And the advertised car chase scene begins as a very cool Korean underground casino scene featuring a seemingly clean, simple ceramic chip design with a nice denom font. Nothing I’ve seen used popularly before.

My wife and I both loved it. If you liked Pan's Labyrinth, you'll probably enjoy this one too. Sally Hawkins was amazing!

Wasn’t there an Infinity War thread here? Was avoiding it before seeing the film... saw it tonight and now can’t find the thread. WTF?

Just watched The Bad Batch. It was bizarre. Surprisingly it had some well know actors in it. If you want to watch a WTF?? movie, check it out.
Revees, Ribisi, and Jim Carey are in it.

Just saw Venom last night midnight showing. Man, is it bad. Like, even if you lowered your expectations bad. There were a few funny moments here and there, but overall the movie was just horrible. I wonder if the movie suffered from some scenes being cut and the rating lowered from an R to PG-13.

Watched Ready Player One and Life Itself over the weekend.

Ready Player One - I give 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Life Itself - I give 3 of 5.

I watched them film this movie. They rented out a restaurant call Victors around the corner from where I lived.

We saw Glass this weekend, very good movie for those who enjoy M. Night Shyamalan's offerings. I'm a big fan of Unbreakable (my favorite of his) and Split, and I thought he did a great job bringing the stories and styles of the previous two (which were very different) together, and I love the direction(s) they took it. You definitely need to have seen the first two before checking this one out, and if it's been a while, watch them again before going to see it, one of the better "easter eggs" is the continuance of M. Night Shyamalan's cameo character. It's an interesting take on the super hero genre, and given the steady stream of Marvel/DC movies the past 10 years, IMHO very relevant in it's timing. Great performances by both the main three (especially McAvoy) and their main supports (big +EV for being able to get the son in Unbreakable back for this movie).

I have no idea what all the pissing was about from critics, perhaps they were thinking this was going to be like a Marvel movie? Must have been the same critics who lauded last year's Star Wars debacle...

Couple of flix i'll vouch for
Bohemian Rhapsody
Bad Times At The El Royale (big fan of Jeff Bridges)
and watched Green Book last night which was also good

Disclaimer: I'm not much of a movie fan. But I've seen two movies already this year, and the were both outstanding. The local non-profit artsy theater (Sarasota Film Society) shows selected flicks at 11 am on Saturdays, with a local movie-making expert on hand to lead a discussion afterward (bonus! Coffee and pastries are provided!).

The two movies were "Free Solo", a documentary about Alex Hannold's first-ever solo free climb of El Capitan; and "At Eternity's Gate", starring Willem Dafoe as Vincent Van Gogh, through the last years of his life. Dafoe was born to play this role.

Both were terrific, and highly recommended. If all movies were this good, I'd go a lot more often...

Watched "Free Solo" a couple of months ago and thought it was fantastic! I highly recommend it as well!

I watched Motley Crue: The Dirt last night. I enjoyed it. Nothing mind blowing. If you have a couple of hours to kill and are a fan of the music/era I definitely recommend it.

My son (who is 22) and I turned it on. Within 5 minutes there is a
squirting scene
lol. He got up and left the room and did some homework. I'm guessing he'll watch it later lol.

@WedgeRock I know your interested in this movie. Don't watch it with your boys.

I enjoyed Dirt. I knew what to expect and it didn’t disappoint. Great “popcorn” movie. Now I’m questioning my self worth after that last sentence.

Looking through A prime right now and come across one of the Bain’s of my existence.

Girls just want to have fun.

While my younger sister watched this movie incessantly (we didn’t have cable, mid 80s, but a damn vcr) I fell in love with Hunt (quarterback princess if anyone remembers that horribly made for TV movie) and had to watch this at least 50 times. (Yes I didn’t have a life at 11 years old)

Man, the chit I remember.

Jake took me to see "Shazam" yesterday. I thought it was fantastic. Best of the recent DC movies imo. Lots of fun. Didn't take itself to seriously.

Saw Hellboy last night. Dreadful. Not a patch on the last two movies. Felt unfinished and rushed and the CGI was better on my Commodore 64.

Kid i worked with in the 80's had his uncle in this days events, looking forward to seeing this, ANZAC's

Do yourself a favour and check out " Battle Of Long Tan' on Utube.....excellent doco and dare i say prequel to this movie.
