My Journey As A Professional Poker Player (20 Viewers)

$10 straddle on from BB action player, we limp CO with

:ac::tc::8s::6h:

Straddler raises to $60. Bunch of callers, flop is

:qc::7d::5c:

Shortstack in EP shoves for $240

Folded to us, we are only caller and run twice.

First board I turn straight and river nut flush

2nd board I river nut flush and scoop!

I dabble in PLO online but have never played live. These pots are crazy!
Is it safe to assume you can't bet people off of a nut flush draw?

Depends on the player and stack sizes. Tighter players if all they have is the nfd may give it up

Looser players call chasing gutshots to idiot ends of straights

Lol, lady who folded her weak flush draw just said "why would you run it twice if you had the nuts?"

The guy had nut straight plus set of jacks against nut straight plus flush draw.

She got visibily upset and loud about them running it twice, when she wasn't in the pot

Drunk lady on my right raises to $20. I call with :ac::kc::tc::7s:

Kid in hoodie on $5 rock to my left pots to $90, she calls, I call

Flop :qc::7c::4d:

Checked around

Turn :js:

She bets $95, we pot, hoodie folds, she calls off and goes once

River :8h:

She has :ks::ts::7h::6h:

So pair of 7's with a K kicker. I win with pair of 7's with an Ace and bust her

We limp :kc::jd::ts::8d: in CO after limpers, overly aggressive hoody kid on button/rock makes it 25, multiple callers

Flop :th::8c::4d:

MP pots for almost his entire stack, I repot with top 2 and straight blockers to isolate (for $615)

One guy with a decent stack considers it, but folds

We go twice, first board I turn broadway and flush draws, bink a river 8 to fill

2nd board he whiffs his draws and we scoop

Really seems like there are some terrible players in your pool, geez.

We are off! CO straddle to 50, button is rock and folds

We are SB with :ac::as::6s::5s:

We just call, BB calls. 3 ways to a flop

:js::8c::3s:

We check, it's checked around

Turn :7c:

We check, BB bets 100, we are only caller

River :ad:

We check, he bets 400. He might have the T9 here, but I ask him "if I show will u fold?" And his response seems uncomfortable

Coupled with the polarizing bet when I played my hand like a draw that whiffed, I call and he announces we are good

We are in SB with :ac::qs::8c::8h:

Button (best player in the room) has straddled to 50.

We'd like to play this hand, but not OOP in a bloated pot against the best player, we opt to fold

Next hand dealt :kd::kh::4h::4s: on button, bunch of limpers, we call

Flop :ac::qh::td:

We are getting ready to bet when checked to since we block the nuts, but there's a bettor before us so we opt to get out of the way

We are button and limp :ad::8s::6s::4d:

EP makes it $125 (best pro in room)

I call, blind calls

Flop :8h::4h::4s:

Pro bets $250

We raise to $600, he calls

Turn :5s:

He checks, we bet $700. He thinks for a LONG time. I'm worried I'm gonna walk into a cooler that turns what has been a great day into a loser

Ultimately he winds up folding and we win another nice pot

Price of plywood just dropped due to lack of need for a stage to dance on tonight.

So for those who didn't know, I managed to get some backers to play the bigger games (I included my roll in the combined bankroll)

Today was the first day giving it a shot and it went better than expected.

Despite that awful main pot loss vs 7622 earlier, I managed to win:

$377 at TGT 1/2/5

$857 at hard rock 2/2/5

$1,869 at hard rock 10/10/25

For a grand total of +$3,103 on the day!

Back at it tomorrow!

We are MP, rock on pur right, we limp :ah::ad::ts::6s:

Multiway to a flop of :td::9h::6h:

We all check, kid on my left bets 75, BB calls, we call

Turn :7h:

BB checks, we pot for 400, both players fold, BB folds :qh::th: face-up. We flash the :ah: and scoop
Nice play. I'm wondering if something like that can even work with my crew. :ROFL: :ROFLMAO:
Might be better for me to half pot bet and let them continue to call down if I actually had the nut flush

It's VERY opponent dependant. The guys in this particular hand view me as a value bettor, not as a bluffer

Against the calling station droolers obviously I fold and move on
