Hello,

I am a brand new member here at PCF. I've been fascinated by poker chips and money ever since I was a young child: I have fond memories of counting and re-counting the coins from my piggy (actually a glass elephant) bank with my little sister on boring winter evenings. After I discovered underground poker as a teenager, I was hooked. I got my first set of poker chips on Facebook Marketplace for free after bundling them with another deal. They were the kind everyone had as a starter. I had those basic chips for 4 years, and have played hundreds of hours with my friends and family with them! (and became a financial advisor to boot)

Over Covid, my wife (teacher) learned how to use Canva, and taught me too; I decided to make reference cards to help out new players (feel free to use and share them - I couldn't figure out how to get SVG's to embed into this post, but I'm sure some smartypants can figure it out. Otherwise, DM me once I have enough clout and I'll email them to you). Recently, I built an 8-seater poker table for a little nook that was empty in my bonus room. I'm no craftsman, and it certainly isn't beautiful, but I was on a budget and already had a few materials on hand. Since then, I've started hosting monthly poker games at my house, and it's been a blast. But every time someone tries a chip shuffle... it's pretty pathetic.

My cousin is getting married soon, and recently asked me to bring my chips over to his place to host a 2.5-hour home game. We had a great time, and he asked me how much it cost me to buy the chips, case (flimsy aluminum thing), and the reference cards. I explained the history of the set, and he loved it. Then he asked me how much it would cost for him to buy the whole thing off of me! I told him that it could be his wedding gift, and he and his fiancée were stoked. So here I am, in need of some new poker chips that are ideally less lame than the last set, willing to learn, and unwilling to get a second mortgage on my house!

Welcome! Nice to see another Edmontonian. I grew up there before moving abroad 14 years ago - will be there in Summer visiting family/friends.

PCF game @BNads86??
Welcome and the chips at this would be worth the price of admission. In Swift Current but only 7hrs away. Lol
