KEM Hater (5 Viewers)

Can you tell me precisly, preferably in points what is that you seek in cards? Size, index, colors, stiffnes etc.
Maybe we can help
Oh I have plenty of card setups and know what I like. I just find the discussion here interesting. Just putting in my 2 cents is all.

Poker sized regular index KEMs, played just fine. Full disclosure, if the deck is sitting flat the random 4 of spades is slightly visible but I'm just hyper aware. Pinky swear I was not looking for it, I was busy reminding people the bet was on them and that they couldn't bet a nickel.

To prove that I play with apes, I asked if they liked these cards and got mostly shrugs. I asked if they felt different than our usual Desjgn/Faded Spades/COPAGs? Nothing, blank stares.

I've always said (and I get bashed for it everytime) that the Kems that are sold retail are not the same quality as the Kems sold to casinos. They just are different IMO. Buying retail Kems is like lighting hundos on fire. Only Kems I've had that were worth a crap are used ones (mostly circle backs) from a cardroom or casino.

Used to be a seller on feeBay (RuthRat) that sold used setups in bulk from cardrooms, that were probably changed out after a few hours of play, that were better than any other Kems i've ever owned. Unfortuinately I haven't seen her selling in a while.
Not true. These are mostly used casino circlebacks. Warped pieces of shit. Might even have been from that same seller.

I had remembered that there may have been an issue with the 2011 WSOP cards, and found this blog:
http://taopoker.blogspot.com/2011/06/2011-wsop-day-8-marked-cards-conspiracy.html?m=1

It claims a number of the lower spades, particularly the :4s: was compromised. I checked my decks and sure enough, with the right light and the right angle, very evident. Sadly, it’s easier to see the issue in person than in photos.
The :4s::

And the :5s::

It’s like a band of the finish isn’t the same. Like a sprayer of the finish wasn’t working correctly, and since the lower spades are likely all together in the print sheet, all were affected in a similar manner. Even the faces are affected:

I will say, this will probably go unnoticed under most lighting conditions, but… it’s there.
I've received a small of the 2011 KEMs. Is it just my small sample size or is the marking only affected by the black deck?

The red back deck seems fine in the two cards I have as sample.

I saw it on both decks but only the low numbered spades, particularly the 4, 5, 6. All other cards were fine.
