Are there any Jessie Beck fans that are interested in adding a custom CPC quarter to their set? Minimum CPC order is 300 chips and I'd be in for a rack or two so I'd only need 1 or 2 more peeps interested to make this happen.

Design:
I don't have any definite design in mind right now other than scrown mold. Was thinking going with tri-moon spots but that is up for discussion. Here is my first real quick attempt at some mock ups.

Just to give it it some context on cost, any of these mock up is $282.00 / rack + taxes and shipping.

But as of now any/all options are on the table. If you are interested, let me know.

Been thinking about doing the same thing. Something that's not close in color to the pink $5. Really like the yellow. Very interested.

I just tossed colors together without much thought. Just tried to make chips that would not clash with the $1 or the $5. Would love to see what others might come up with. But I'm liking either the Canary, lavender or orange base color.

Another option might be 1/4 pie like the $1. The $5 and up have the same spot so keeping with design, maybe the frac and $1 are the same spot pattern? Just spitballing. But I really do like the tri-moon. :)

Ok, I want to make this happen. @BiGGyT has also expressed interest. So we have plenty to make and order.

So we need two things:
1. Color / spot pattern. I tossed out a few quick options. So we need feedback.

2. Inlay design. I checked with @David Spragg and his guidelines for the inlay were:

The rules are you can’t make anything from any Nevada casino past or present unless it has something on it to indicate it is a ‘commemorative’.
You also have to make some change to the design as the copyright exists for 75 years after the owner of the copyright dies.

So, given that, are there any graphic designers among us that could come up with a design that meets those rules but still looks like it belongs to the JB set? I could reach out to @p5woody or @Johnny5, (I guess I just did by tagging them) and see what they would charge?

I am thinking the canary is far enough away from the other colors, lavender might get confused with pink or blue depending on hue of the chip. Orange might also be good, not gray, green, red, blue.

I like the thought of the tri-moon, though spot progression might be off?

I'd be in for 1 rack, 2 if I like it.

Spot progression is hard since there is not really any on the JBs. It's 1/4 pie then all 4D14. So I thought the trip moons quarter just kinda works but if any better ideas, let's hear them.

only progression is 2 colors, then 3 colors. So thought might be just 2 colors for frac, so tri-moon spots might be 1 color?

Anyway we go with it, I am in for at least 1 rack.

I like the tri-moon. What about an homage to Mapes $5 and doing DG tiger. I am likely in for a rack. Also, the prospective buyers could choose different styles... what is the criteria... 300 chips, two designs... or is it 300/3?

We require a minimum order of 300 chips. Within a 300 chip set you can have up to 3 unique chips. In a 400 chip set up to 4, and in a 500 up to 5 etc. Orders for 39mm and 44mm chips cannot be combined. Minimum order size for add-ons and re-orders will be evaluated on a case by case basis and lowered if possible.

So with 3 people 1rack each, each can have their own design. Another rack, another design.

So I guess we don't need to decide on a style. Just decided you want a rack of small crown CPCs and give me the design and I can coordinate the purchase. Would prefer that all were for JB fracs, but I guess it does not need to be. But will still need an inlay design.

I know for me, I'm ordering 1-2 racks of fracs plus a barrel of each other frac design I like.

If you have a design made (adding commemorative or some other minor change), would be best if all share the same design for simplicity?

I am leaning to the canary/orange 1/4 pie, maybe dg tiger.

I reached out to CPC to find out the rules for copying inlays of casino chips and @David Spragg said:

The rules are you can’t make anything from any Nevada casino past or present unless it has something on it to indicate it is a ‘commemorative’.
You also have to make some change to the design as the copyright exists for 75 years after the owner of the copyright dies.
Given that, I reached out to @Johnny5 to see what he could come up with. After supplying him with scans of existing Jessie Beck chips, he said:

It’s difficult for me to say exactly what changes would be acceptable to CPC. We would probably have to come up with some designs and see if we can get them approved.

Some ideas would be to change the name (perhaps RIVERSIDE COMMEMORATIVE or similar), and/or swap out her pic. Or we could try to recreate everything as close as possible, and try to fit in some commemorative wording and/or dates (open/close?) on it somewhere?

Looking at the inlay scans, the image quality isn’t great. Honestly I wonder if it’s even worth trying to recreate everything for a single denom, you might be able to get away with using a scan of the original inlay and adding some commemorative text to it.
So what does everyone think? Any ideas on an inlay design?

What if we did a commemorative with just the logo side and not the floating head and denom... Make it a NCV chip with the formal logo on it... Or find a way to use that logo with 25¢ below it... It would look different, but maybe not totally different from the originals.

Would the design need to be the same on both sides or would cpc do different designs? I would assume that would be extra cost? It might be best to use 1 design? In which case I would suggest the logo, not the head. Not sure what could change and keep it close. Maybe change Jessie Beck's to Jessie's Bank or Jessie's Reno. Think you gotta keep Riverside, logo, denomination on each side.

I'm pretty sure it does not matter for price whether we do 1 design per side or 1 design for both. If we supply the art work, and it's acceptable, we are good.

If adding "commemorative" and dates and whatever would be enough, great. But for me it needs to stay names Jessie Beck. Changing the name Beck is not an option for me. One of the main reasons I like these chips is that my last name is actually Beck and so not having that name on the chip kinda ruins it.

I was thinking if we needed to replace Jessie's head for copyright reasons, I would use either my mom or grandmother? It would be cool/funny for me personally, but I'm sure others might not like it. Especially those who already just tolerate Jessie herself on the chip. But they are Becks too so it works.

If we can get the inalys changed enough, then people can choose for their rack if they want 1 design or both. I'm going to try and mock up some options, or employ J5 to recreate it completely.

I agree. If you can lock down and agree upon a single approved inlay design, then each one purchasing racks can design their own chip colors/spots based on their preferences and share/split any artwork fees.

I wish there were a few inlays out there that you could simply choose from and then create your own colors/spots/chips. Sort of like the Rounders and Atlantic Club.
