Hey guys, I’m currently weighing what makes the most sense for me right now — financially and in terms of overall value, especially since I’ll also be building my poker table soon.

Besides the Tina option, I still have my set of CPC chips that are covered with stickers. They’re blanks, and even back then I already wanted to have them milled and relabeled. The reasons are probably obvious: it looks cleaner and, most importantly, more professional.

I read the milling service thread here, but for me it just doesn’t seem worth it. Shipping plus the labor is simply too expensive since I live in Germany.

I also read the DIY milling tutorial thread and honestly think I’d be capable of doing it myself.

So now I’m wondering if there are good options for getting quality inlays — I mean something that really feels like a proper chip insert, if you know what I mean. I’d also be interested to hear what cutter/router bit size you would recommend for milling the chips.

What would you recommend in my situation? I’d really appreciate any tips or advice.

If they are what I think it is, they don’t need to be mill further more

They already had a recess area, you just need to remove the label and replace them with new labels

Showing some pictures will help to identify if they need to be mill

Not mine but my chips look like this. There is no recess area.

@Gear ships internationally from Canada. Not sure what the duties would look like, but they are the best option for relabeling.

For milling, you’d need a drill press and the appropriate bit, perhaps @Josh Kifer or @pokercole could give you the info on that.

How many chips in the set?

Thank you!
I got 1000 chips

I had some already inlayed HHR CPC (or maybe ASM) chips that I wanted different inlays in. They are obviously already slightly recessed. Popped the inlays out and got some gear labels to replace them. They are excellent. Can’t tell the difference between them and the original inlayed chips, and they are in the same set, in play at the same time.

I’m in the uk and postage was not an issue. Highly recommend.

Do you need 1000 chips? If not, have you considered what these would sell for and what you could get with an efficient breakdown?

Damn... Those chips above beg to be hotstamped.
How about we find you a replacement with inlays, which are very easy to get out and you wouldn't need milling?

Depends on the replacement

Actually i love having a good amount of chips at my (future) table

I do have these (diamond mold):

To be clear, I do not need the others as I have too many sets (What did I just say? Is that even a thing?!), but hotstampable chips are not that easy to find so it would be nice to be able to save them.

This is the way. Removing CPC inlays takes 1 second per.

Are these cash or tournament? I’ve got a spotted cash set on the Hmold that has inlays and I have tons of tournament sets on other CpC molds (I have a tourney set on Hmold but it’s my favoritist set I own so it’s na).

I’d be interested in trading for a win/win where you get chips with labels for no more money and I get a set of stampable blanks.

I can come do this trade in person as well, saving a ton on shipping.

I would sell and buy what you want.

Reasoning is, you can mill em easy, but it takes a few hundred chips to get used to milling. And you'll want chip 1 to be like chip 1000 on this. At that point, you either need some chips to practice on or risk learning on the set you wanna use.

At that point, I'd always get what ya want rather than try to change these.

Sounds interesting! My set is a cashgame set

I think you’re right.

It's not a unbeatable project, but nothing's worse than finishing and realizing the first 300 chips just arnt milled as good as the last 700. And you'll notice it every time. That drives me nuts.

What should I pay special attention to? What are common pitfalls or steps that are often underestimated?
