Indy 500 Contest (1 Viewer)

I think we still need a picking order for Group 2, @BGinGA . If you can get that to us, maybe Mike, @dbertheau and myself can pick teams separately in a PM, just so it's not too convoluted here.

to make it a bit easier...copied stuff to this post

While I like the new qualifying rules, in hindsight they did have an effect on the outcome. In the past it was always the fastest 33 cars. If there were a slow qualifier higher up in the field, they would be bumped. I think I'd like to see them lock nobody and go to a full bump schedule AFTER fast 9 run.

In this case Pippa Mann would have been bumped as McLaren had a faster bump day speed....but I like Pippa a bunch, she will do well again and stay out of trouble. She always starts in the back so knows what is up.

Hinchcliffe will get collected in an early incident if he is not patient. You heard it here first.

Embarrassing!

What surprises me is that Alonzo, even after the debacle with McLaren the last few years he drove for the team on F1, still comes to Indy with them! WTF, Fernando? Was it about money? It seems to me it was. I'm a HUGE Alonzo fan and up to now I thought he was the unluckiest driver ever as far as picking teams is concerned. Now I think I'm on the camp he wanted the money. Why would he stay with McLaren for Indy? For a promise they would be competitive? After being promised the same thing in F1 for years? It absolutely sucks, man.

And honestly, I think the Indy500 looses a bit without Fernando driving the race. Yes, for fans like us, it doesn't matter. But there's a lot of non-Americans, fans of F1, that would be watching the 500 because of him. Lost opportunity. Not sure what the IndyCar could have done to avoid this. Maybe nothing, idk...

I hope Fernando goes talking to Andretti or Roger or Chip.

Absolutely! I think IndyRacing should actually push for it, from an international's market expansion perspective. maybe Fernando should even drive a full season. He's done with F1 for sure. None of the top teams will hire him. So what's left? Sports? He should come to the US, imo.

maybe if Simon wrecks every car he drives for the rest of the season Roger will send him packing...opening up a very fast seat. One can dream.

..but if that happened and I was Roger I'd want Colton Herta. He is the next Indy Star. You told me that Rossi was no fluke even though he won indy on a fuel run. You were right about your favorite driver.

This is the best team I've drafted in a long time. Unbeatable...2 Penskes, 2 Carpenters, 2 Andrettis, a solid rookie, and the hottest chick on the grid. I'll pm my PP info in a minute guys. Sage and Kaiser will both move up, they have better than last row cars.
