Holy grail Paulson set? (1 Viewer)

Definitely subjective.

Here's my current favourite

Current and grail is probably not the same thing, lol. At least, not to me.

Nice choice for a 500 though!
I like to qualify it these days because my answer today is not what is was before and I'm sure I will change my mind again lol.

To be fair, I changed my mind a few times this year and realized I don’t have a grail set, just a lot of sets I admire and wouldn’t mind owning. :ROFLMAO:

In my opinion, Grail chips have to be difficult to obtain. It’s kind of exactly what the metaphor means. Mankind has been searching for the holy grail for centuries upon centuries.
Not rare? Not grail.

One of the many reasons that the NAGBGB chips will never, ever be grail sets in my mind.

If a set can be easily purchased just by offering more money than it's worth, then it is not a grail set. Looking at sets come and go, changing hands so many times makes me smirk a bit when I hear them referred to as "Grail Sets".

IMO I think the only set, which is still in the making by @41Pickup , that even comes close to being a grail set would be the 1st edition Tropicana set.

Grail sets are like the horizon. More of a concept than a corporeal being. It's all about the journey and not the destination.

That, plus personal preferences. I'm still waiting to be inspired by something I can call my grail. Until the inspiration strikes me with focus, I'll keep buying other stuff that tickles my fancy and sell it when no longer does.

Think he'd sell to Jeff Bezos for, say, one lousy billion bucks? :cool

For that matter, do you think you would?

Lol NAGB has entered our lexicon, next up should be NAGS (not a grail set). :whistling:

A lot of people throw “grail set” around too easily.
It just cracks me up how many people show up on this site and within a month they’re either searching for those chips or they own them. I just don’t remember that sort of behavior before those chips existed. Maybe all the newbs were buying PCAs and the like, and I just didn’t notice. But I feel like these NAGB searching newbs are just being sold a bill of goods.
Shiny does not equal grail

PCF is picking their favorite casino chips by color. If you had racks of all the above chips, you'd definitely make almost everybody jealous.

@Josh Kifer, remember when we were going to build the best of PCF set year by year in CPC recreations? I still think if done right that would've been an awesome set/sample.

I wondered if thechiproom sale of Jacks was the modern day equivalent to the PCA sale.
I don’t think so, and I’ll tell you why. The Jacks look an awful lot like the Cleveland horseshoe secondary’s and the Cincinnati horseshoe secondary’s and the horseshoe southern Indiana secondary’s and the Isle secondary’s, and probably a handful of others that will roll out in the next couple of years.
I dunno, how many RHC sets with nondescript black inlays can there be?

I was thinking less in the design and more of in the hype and the release being the new shiny focus. This is my first time around for the hype of a new The Chip Room sale.

Seems like Jacks attract a lot of newbs (me included). I’m sure the design, price and accessibility are all important factors. But I’m guessing it was the same with PCAs? Just a different design otherwise rinse and repeat.
