Hello from VA (1 Viewer)

You've got LOTS of options. Most of them are expensive unfortunately. I mainly play around with customs so someone with more knowledge on your used casino options should be around shortly...

CPC (@David Spragg) is a manufacture of AWESOME chips that are Casino quality and totally custom, this is an expensive but worth it option. You can also purchase CHINA CLAY that are nice and a place holder until you can find (or pay) for exactly what you want.. Apache has some nice ones to choose from, I started with the Pharaohs chips and they are SOOO worth checking out for temporary the look and feel of them are very close to a casino chip..

Number one: Get samples...
Number two: Whats your budget?
Number three: Search this site for reviews.

Number Four: Welcome to PDF, may your wallet be empty and your CHIP racks be full..

Welcome and you came to the right place. If you truly want what the casinos use I love Paulson chips!!! They can get expensive especially in the current market conditions. As mentioned before you can always have CPC make up some custom chips which are also very nice. Oh, did I mention I love Paulson Chips!!! Keep an eye on the forum for chip sets for sale or when you have enough posts you can post a wanted post to let us know what you are looking for. Sometimes some of the members forget what they have hidden away in their chip closets and will get back to you about a set with a fair price. Right now I recommend to also look at eBay but you might pay a premium purchasing a set there. Sometimes the same set is offered here first at a good price to keep them in chip community prior to being listed on FeeBay. Oh, did I forget to mention I looovvvvee Paulson Chips!

Welcome and enjoy the ride!!

Welcome aboard! There are a number of options available that are a step up from the Monte Carlos. In addition to the clay chips mentioned, there are also casino quality ceramics available. If that's an option for you, I would suggest looking at some of the vendors in the Marketplace section of the forum. In particular, GOCC has made chips for casinos, such as the Borgata.

If I was starting over with a first set of nice chips... With the easy availability to expand my set... I would consider the KeyWest Resort and Casino chips.

To be honest if I don't come across a used set of Egyptians soon. I am really really looking hard at a KW cash set.

I always wanted an nice set of poker chips like the casinos have.

Welcome to PCF. First thing you must realize is that you aren't going to find a nice set of poker chips like the casinos have for 18c per chip, or anywhere near that price.

If paying $1 per chip MINIMUM sounds like too much (and in many cases it may be two-three times that or more), then you need to redefine what you want into what you're willing to pay for.

Just a brutal awakening for your wallet, before you get sucked into thinking that you can get a set of nice casino chips (or reasonable facsimile) for less than $1000. Ceramics, maybe, but even those may not be what you consider 'a nice set'. Most casinos use Paulson chips. Paulson chips are not cheap, and in many cases, not easy to come by.

Rule #1 - get samples. Wisest investment you can make, bar none. Find out what's out there, what you really like, and what you're willing to spend. Then define your 'want' criteria.

Good luck with your quest.

Welcome

If you are looking to get a cash set, then the Aztar chips are a good fit. Real casino used Paulson chips that are under $1 each. Once you get into the higher denominations (100 or bigger), then the cost goes way up.
