First Poker Table Build (1 Viewer)

Well since joining PCF, I have done the following:

• Bought a ceramic set of Poker Chips (600 set, plaques, bounty chips)(Nevada Jacks)
  • 300 from Amazon
  • Additional from BR Pro Poker
• Ordered two sample sets of Rounders (KGB) Chips (Classic Poker Chips)
  • Giving a set to my Brother for his birthday.
• Ordered two sample sets of Chesterfield Club Chips (Classic Poker Chips)
  • Giving a set to my Brother for his birthday.
• Ordered a sample set of Majestic Chips (Apache Poker Chips)
• Annnd finally ordered a kit for a Poker Table from Build Your Own Poker Tables.

This has been a 3 months span. Needless to say, this forum is going to bankrupt me. Lol.

Here's couple of pictures of the build. It was 3 of us and took about 12-13 hours. Done all in one day.

I still have to add the LEDs. They hadn't been delivered when we finished.

I went with no racetrack and no cupholders. I read through most of the forum threads on that discussion. I think I'm going with the slide under cupholders.

• Da Vinci Bridge Size Jumbo Index (cream colored center)
• Copag Bridge Size Jumbo Index (cream colored center)
• 600-piece acrylic chip case with trays

Post your thoughts on the Da Vinici vs Copag once you've played with them a bit. I don't mind the Copag (Bridge/Jumbo), but I feel there may be better alternatives out there.

Table looks great! I am a copag guy myself. Haven’t tried Da Vinci’s though. Are they on the stiffer side like copags?

I tried the Da Vinci a couple of weeks ago. Will try the Copag next weekend. We’ll see the difference.

Yes, the Da Vinci playing cards are more stiff than the copags.

Yeah, I was so amped up after adding the LEDs that I forced my wife and daughter to play a game

It was about $500 +/-. I found the kit for a Poker Table from Build Your Own Poker Tables on Amazon ($265) (you can also check the site below), 3 sheets of plywood ($200.00), LED lights about $24, and odds and end. This can be reduced by not doing the raised rail (it saves about $60 - no additional plywood sheet).

You will need to have screws, drills, circular saw, router, jigsaw, and I would invest in a cordless staple gun. Find 2-3 friends that will help and supply beer and pizza....lol (not included in the budget).

Go with Copags. My DaVinici's started to bleed out colors, I live in Houston where its super humid outside. I've never had a problem with my Copags. 8 years old and still look new.

How do you like the table?

I've used it a couple of times on a heads up game with my daughter. But, I have a cash game setup for July 24th where we'll get around 10 people around it. That will be the test.

Forgot to add the table legs for $40 or so. Make sure you have the correct height of table and cut the legs. I had to cut an 1" to have the playing surface around 29" or so. Used a pipe cutter (Ridgid 31622 Model 150).

What gets you is the tools needed to do the job. Luckily, I had most of them except the staple gun.
