Admin’s if this isn’t in the right spot please move it.

After the hand I had last night, it got me thinking & was curious. What’s the wildest most bizarre hand you’ve been involved in? Home game or a casino, let’s hear them. I posted mine in another thread but I’ll post it here.

The game was 1/2NL with a $200 max buy-in & was playing 8 handed. I had already done a rebuy & wasn’t doing that great on the second one, I was getting ok hands but just getting beat so I decided to mix it up a little & did 2 hands where I called the blinds & pre-flop bets before looking at my cards then make a decision after the flop. Those went about as good as the rest of my night so on the 3rd hand I was tired & ready to go so I told the other players it was my last hand & I was going to play that entire hand without looking at my cards. I had about $175 in my stack, 5 players including me went $10 pre flop. The flop was AKK, 1 guy bets $40, everyone else folds & I call. The turn is a low card & he bets 40 again, I call. The turn is another low card & he shoves all in for $70, I call. He says “are you seriously not going to look at your cards before you call?” He turns over AT, I grab my cards, look away from the table & turn them over. I hear the people at the table going crazy, I turn around to look at my cards & see AK... needless to say he was pissed! I called it a night after that lol.

I don't known if I can name a specific hand. But I have a small group, 3-4 other guys, we used to play every Sunday. We play shorter stacked tournaments, usually getting 3-4 games in.

One of my friends plays pretty reckless. He loves to go all in, in the dark (because he heard someone do it on TV years ago). Anyways, for whatever reason, he has an amazing track record of sucking out on the river, especially against me. One night he knocked me out 4 games in a row, and they all were hands where he hit a one or two outer on the river. After that 4th knockout I had to leave the table, went upstairs, and completely flipped out

I never told anybody this...about eight nine months ago, I'm at the Taj it's late and I see Johnny Chan walk in and he goes and sits in the three hundred six hundred section and the whole place stops and everybody puts an eye on him, after a while there wasn't a crap going on because all the high rollers are over there watching and some of them playing but they're giving their money to him and say "oh", I played with the world champion", you know what I did? I sat down. Played tight for an hour, folded mostly then I made a score. I had nothing, but he raised and I decided I don't care about the money, I'm just going to out play the guy, I'm going to out play this guy, this hand, I'll re-raise. He comes back over the top at me trying bully me like I'm some tourist, I hesitate for like two seconds then I'll re-raise and he makes a move to his checks and he looks at me, check his cards and looks at me again, and he mucked it, I took it down. I got up and walked to the cashier, I sat with the best in the world, and I won.

I made an unnecessarily ballsy move very lately, in the session's final hand, playing against @Eriks and @OfficerLovejoy , basically out of boredom and frustration. But poker is NOT a game of bravery, but rather of shrewdness.
All-in with QJ suited, 4-handed. What could they possibly have, 4-handed?
Well, they had AA and KK. :ROFLMAO:

A long time ago in AC (I think the Borgata but can’t remember)

New player at the table sits down with $300 at the 1/2 NL table. First hand he plays he raises big like $25 or so - 2 callers.

Flop comes 10 high: 10 9 4 with no flush draws. Raiser goes all-in for his $275 or so. One fold, and the other player, who seems very confused, calls the all-in.

New guy flips over KK; confused guy flips over K3 offsuit.

Runner runner 3’s sends the new guy away in disgust. Still the craziest runout I’ve seen live.

To be fair, there had been quite a bit of light 3betting and 4betting going on, especially after we were only 4-handed. Just really bad timing there  :ROFLMAO:

What did you say when he asked: "Did you have it?"

Great post, by the way.

I wish I could say your loss was my gain. Damn this @Eriks and his never ending string of Aces! ;)

I’ll play a couple hands a night without looking at my cards. I don’t tell anyone that I didn’t look though, and I use to focus on betting patterns, behaviours, etc. I’d say I’m about break even on them in the long run.

I got the idea from reading an article about Annette Obrastad (spelling) winning a tournament with her hole cards covered.

I don’t remember exact specifics, I just know it was at the middle stages of a Holdem tournament. I had jammed something and lost to somebody who didn’t quite have me covered. So I was down to 3 bigs, and it was time to jam the next Ace. Or K or Q, probably. I was in late position, so I had almost an orbit to wait for something.
But somebody raised healthy under the gun, the next guy 3-bet and the next guy jammed. I was looking at a 3-4 off, which should be a snap fold. But we weren’t at the bubble or anything, so it wasn’t like surviving an orbit was going to do me any good. I figured maybe they were all sharing high cards so maybe I could get lucky and quadruple up.
And that’s exactly what happened. They had something like AA, KK, AK. I either turned or rivered the straight, and quadrupled up.

It’s a hand I’m very proud of, because I’m not the guy who just tosses in his last chips in disgust, right after a bad beat - I’ll always wait for something decent to jam with; gotta give myself a chance to survive. But this one just made sense (or at least it did in my head) and I got lucky.

Posted this one before, but it's still my favorite: I have an ongoing poker rivalry with a buddy. Every hand we are in together is serious. One time we both decided to go to war in the same hand. He had A9o to my A2o. I think I was on the button and he was the BB. Preflop was raise, 3-bet, call. He check-called my flop and turn bets and check-raised me all in on the river.

We both had nothing. I insta-called his river shove with my ace high and deuce kicker and he mucked. I flipped my cards over . . . as soon as it dawned on him that his nine kicker played he tried grabbing his cards out of the muck . . . too late. #rekt.

There's actually a bit of strategy in my thinking with this hand, which will hopefully add to the story.

Playing 1/3 NL Hold'em, with optional button straddle, at a lively game with cast of regular players. Villain in this hand buys in big, but is a good, seasoned, player, somewhere in between loose aggressive and tight aggressive. I have a similar image. In this game, players are allowed to run boards multiple times if all-in, which many players do, but this Villain has a policy of running it once unless the pot is over $1000.

Effective stacks are around $300 (my stack). Button straddle to $6. I'm in BB with :ah::3h: and call. Folds around to Villain who raises to $30 from middle position. Button calls the $30, I call the $30. Analysis: Villain often has a good hand in this spot, like AK, AQ, AJ, KQ, or a pocket pair, but I've also seen him make similar raises with connected or gap hands like QJ, JT, T9, QT, or a suited ace. Villain also C-bets very often when he's the pre-flop raiser.

Pot is $91 with 3 players. Flop is :7h::3s::2d:. I check. Like clockwork, Villain C-bets to $45. Button folds. Pot is now $136. Analysis: I've got $270 behind (6x the C-bet, and 2x the pot). I've got middle pair; I'm ahead of most of Villain's non-pocket pair hands, and if he has an overpair, I have a few outs. I thought his bet sizing might be a little bigger if he had an overpair, so it seemed more like a C-bet he'd make with AK, AQ, KQ, etc. I really don't know what I'd do if I just called and the turn was a K, Q, J, or T. If I raised, Villain could put me on an overpair like 88, 99, or TT, after I called preflop, and might fold hands like 66, 55, or 44. Villain could also put me on a total bluff or semi-bluff (A5, A4, 45) and call me with hands like AK or AQ, thinking he might be ahead or, if not, he's got 6 live outs. So I end up thinking: Raise >> Call > Fold.

I go all in. Villain snap-calls. I immediately think he's got an overpair, so I need a 3 or an A. Turns out I was wrong... it was much worse...Villain flips over :7c::7s: for top set.

Pot is $630, and knowing Villain only runs it once, I don't even try and beg him to run it twice -- I stay silent, resigned to my fate, and start pulling out my wallet for a rebuy, when the turn comes a :jh: and the river a :8h:. Backdoor flush draw to the rescue! I did feel a little dirty after that one.

Villain is always good-natured, jovial, and has easily played thousands more poker hands in his life than I've played, but even he's a little stung by this bad beat, and he does something I've never, ever, ever, seen him do at a poker game before.... he opens up a Poker Odds Calculator on his phone.

Edit: Not the most ballsy hand here obviously, but was trying to not start a new thread. It's by far the craziest hand I've played.

This was online after I had cashed out all my $ on Neteller before they went under. I built up from $0 to $550 using FFP with $1000 added tournaments. Well, I did bink a $1, 2,040 player SNG for tree fiddy and a 2nd place finish $118 SNG (out of 800 runners) so that helped (lost last hand to quad 5s heads up, ouch). Not sure the 6 hrs 40 mns was worth it for the bink thinking back.

Climbing back low stakes hand where everyone had a piece or bigger. I'm Da Nutz Man, wish I had thought of Hot Nuts when signing up for Pokerstars. Just a crazy hand. The play at the table was passive and I was trying to figure out how to get all callers in so my min-raise on the flop was targeted to get a push.

I pay 7, 2 all the time if I get it in the first few hands. My theory if your sitting across from me and see me bluffing that shit your gunna be assuming I have shit next time I raise and 75% it makes no difference....... but that sweet 25% where you really stump a guy has really got me hooked haha

I posted this in another thread but I can copy and paste it here

My biggest 1/2 NL win. I was on the button on a table with only 5 others left. I was dealt :2c::2s:. Everybody just slowly called the BB. I thought why not and threw my 2 in. SB completes and BB checks. Flop comes out :kh::6h::2d:. SB is short stacked and shoved immediately. BB was the big stack (only stack bigger than mine) and raised all-in. Everyone shoves! I figure I got a set maybe, just maybe I am good here. At a minimum, I figured if all I win is the one side pot with BB I won't lose anything on this hand, so I shoved too. The dealer gets all the different pots together and then tells me and BB "you two can show them". I show mine and say "I got a set". BB says "I got the heart draw". Before the dealer starts putting out the rest of the board, SB say "I got hearts too!". Slowly but surely everyone starts showing their cards. Everyone else is on a heart draw and the only heart left in the deck, :2h:! After the formalities, I tossed a 25 at the dealer and went to the cage with a little over a grand :) Still the stupidest thing I have ever seen on a poker table. Don't know if anything can compete with that.

Lots of crazy hands, but the first “big win” will always be a hand I remember.

Playing at a church carnival, barely 21 at the time. Playing $1/2 hold’em, rake has killed the game for the most part. We are down to 3 handed and I’m doing well when I get A2 and raise it to $10. Both guys call. I flop gin! AA2, I bet, get raised, next guy raises again, I go all-in and they bot call. I am freaking out, the pot is over $1k, most money I have ever played for to that point in my short poker life!

I show my hand saying I have the nuts, next guy starts moaning his bad luck as he turns over 22 and is drawing dead. Other guy shows A10 for 3 outs.

Turn and river are clean and I scoop the pot. That broke the game, I took my friends out to the bar to retell the story 10 more times and bought the beers for the night.
