So my old poker buddy is coming into town who everyone loves and misses so i wanted to try and make it a special night and try something new. Its a .25/.50 cash game and Im doing a giveaway of $250 guaranteed and possibly $750. I created a list of challenges every play mist try to complete throughout the night and the player with the most completed wins the $250 but if anyone completes all challenges they win $750. Wanted them to not be luck based but things you could have mostly control over and mostly just wanted it to be fun for everyone and make the night exciting. Also added challenges against me that gives them a chance to remove items from the list they deem hardest. Heres my list of challenges and want to hear feedback on the good/bad and if anyone have better ideas. Thanks

Poker challenge ideas

Win a hand with 1 card face up the whole time

Pull off a successful bluff

Win 3 hands in a row

Win a hand without looking at your cards (announce before cards are dealt)

Win a hand pre flop

Go all in at some point

Win a bomb pot

After looking at your cards Complete an entire hand eye closed(turn around). Must get to showdown and cant go all in pre flop

Wild card challenges: completing one of these allows you a free removal of a regular challenge

If u beat me in an all in
If u beat me with 7,2(heads up) or im last to fold)
If u crack my aces
If u bluff me (either on the river or $50+ pot)
If u can call out my hand on the river(heads up)

Great idea, sound like fun!
The only thing I’m not a big fan of is challenges: playing blind - can’t see your cards, playing blind - can’t see community cards. Sounds like can be easily exploited and they kinda duplicate each other. I would pick and modify the first one, so u can see your cards only when sb All-ins you or you get to the river.

Also I think playing bomb pots as PLO can be much more fun, haven’t tried yet though.

Definitely add a high hand prize for the entire night.

Also add a bad beat prize where the loser can get an amount only maybe rather than winner gets a chunk, loser gets a larger chunk and table gets a small portion of the share.

Maybe set up some unique hand where they also win a prize if conditions are met. Something like hit trips or better with 72, or 96.. something along those lines.

Thats a good point. I think i will add that modifier. Yeah we usually do double board plo bomb pots. Definitely tons of fun. Thanks!

How’d it go??
It was awesome. Everyone really loved the idea and was a great balance of people playing loose to try and win without it being too chaotic. The only adjustment needed is some challenges were easy once people’s stack got low which i didn’t account for. I definitely want to do it again

How’d it go??
Also i didnt show that i included a secret prize for whoever completed the #9 challenge first which they get an envelope that cant be opened until the night is over which inside said “you get all of the hosts winnings for the night” which was me and i won big that night and the biggest loser of the night got the envelope so worked perfectly
