what the whole story?

After numerous pms and weeks awaiting response he admitted to sending a different rack. Assured me of sending the other. That hasn’t happened since January. He joined 12/2024 went dark 1/2025. Some chips had black ( marker?) on them, others no starburst stamp at all on one side of chip, some with gouges into stamp, many warn on faces. The other blue rack I bought from him was worn/ not as described.
He also never mailed chips to another PCF member - well over $500. Don’t think that has been resolved either.

Year to date, or total to date? AFAIK all I remember are the paper box deal and this one, I haven't seen any other scams. How big was the pippin (poppin?) shenanigans? Also I think the barrie one got resolved - if that can get resolved I'm sure this can too.

That's just off the top of the dome for what's been seen in passing publicly in the immediate past.

Simply pointing out there’s a long list of issues, seemingly increasing considerably, most go unspoken, none go on feedback, and the community as a whole doesn’t care.

Not the end of the world, but prob entertaining for most folks to watch from the sideline (or commentate on).

That's a problem. Also it used to be affordable as a youth to go to Vegas to gamble. Now by the time you get there and get some food, you're all out of money for the tables. Easier to just sports bet on your phone, or go to a local casino

Nah, he’s still ghosting me. I don’t care even a little. It’s been interesting and not at all “fair”, but I’ve learned a ton. The last step to resurrecting these chips that will be playable is working out the warping. I ordered a bunch of 43mm ceramic blanks from BRPoker Pros and these wooden C Clamps. The ceramics will be here tomorrow. So after about 20 hours of thorough cleaning and using a hand chisel to remove all kinds of gunk the ultrasonic cleaner just couldn’t get, assuming I can get the warping fixed, I’ll end up with around 220-240 chips that I’d be proud to felt. While I didn’t think I was signing up for all the extra work and I certainly didn’t pay fair market pricing, at least I’ve learned how far back from the dead you can bring clay chips. I swear, I thought they’d end up in the trash, minus maybe 2-3 barrels. Once straight, I’m going to feel oddly prideful of these particular chips. They’ll probably be keepers for life as a result. lol

Into the oven they will go with the ceramics to flatten. I’m looking forward to learning the technique. And I have a full rack that are beat to piss, so I can start with those in case I fuck up. lol

Hey all. Looks like I’m late to the party, and we have some shit to resolve publicly. Let’s get to it. First, it was totally my bad I didn’t get back to Jers in a timely manner. I was out of state, which I told him, to visit my grandma who took a bad fall (which I didn’t tell him) but expected to be back on the Sunday after he contacted me. I ended up staying for several weeks because she took a turn for the worse but I’m finally home now. But not his issue, and I still should have found time to reply.

So on to the chips. No bait and switch here. Check the exif data on all the photos I sent over via pm before the transaction. I’ve got lots of photos of these chips before they went out that exif data will show were taken on the day I sent the photos. I also didn’t promise him or represent all chips as minty. I didn’t even list these chips for sale, he reached out to me and asked me about selling them because I had mentioned when I sold Capn chips that I had other green chipsI was going to sell at some point in the future. I told him when he reached out I wasn’t even sure I wanted to sell them. I also told him that I had one rack of minty chips, a second rack not as minty, and a third rack (140 actually) even less so. I’ll post screen shots of the pm messages of me telling him exactly this. He offered me $450 for the two racks of the best chips($2.25/chip), and then I offered him the extra 140 chips for and additional $200 ($1.40/chip) for the sole reason that they weren’t minty and excellent quality. Why would I offer such a discount on the extra rack and a half if I was representing them as the same quality as the rest of the chips.

I also pointed out to Jers that the racks were slightly different colors and barber poked the colors together and told him he probably wouldn’t want them because the two best racks were a different color. I wasn’t pushing for this sale; I was discouraging him from buying them. Again I’ll post the full screen shots of our DMs to verify this.

Question for Jers. If all the chips were so bad, why did you only post a pic of 4 of the chips? Where’s the pics of the full racks of awful chips? You received a full rack of absolutely minty, never rarely felted chips, a second rack of not as minty but still excellent condition chips, and a third group of more used, somewhat dirty with some flea bites chips that I gave you for what I believed they would go for in auction. I even separated the racks and labeled them when I packed and shipped them so that you wouldn’t have to sort out the different colors and the minty chips from the not minty chips

I’ve sold quite a few racks of chips on here already, some in great condition and some shitty racks, and I listed the shitty racks as shitty. And this isn’t close to being the biggest value transaction I’ve done on here. Why would I be totally on the up and up with everyone else except you? Please share pics of the so-called shitty chips I sent you. Those four chips you shared pics of, I agree we’re shitty chips. I should have pulled them out and maybe a few others and sold the last rack as 130 chips instead of 140. But all the other chips were not as bad as your portraying. Which is i think why you didn’t share photos of all the racks.

All this being said, send them all back to me and I’ll give you a full refund and we can wash our hands of the situation. I’d love to get them back, sort them back out into the racks and post new pics of them that show they’re exactly the same pics as the pics I. Including in this thread, and also the pics I sent you representing the chips.

You’ve conveniently omitted a ton and I don’t have time to go line by line through this right now. Since you waiting a month to say a peep, I think I’m entitled to a however long it takes me to get through my daily grind.

Here’s the final message I sent to you after being ghosted for weeks. And I personally have nearly 30 hours and several hundred out of pocket in these chips beyond payment price. I’m sure you would be absolutely thrilled for me to return them now that they are playable. Not all, but around 260 are actually pretty nice after a shit ton of work. It’s true they are two different colors and you were clear with that up front. But, zero were playable as landed. Not one fn chip. Regardless, this can wait. You certainly took your sweet ass time. I’ve never heard of being able to take 4 weeks off of life, because of a grandparent. Shit, if my mom died, I’d still have responsibilities to attend within a few days.

Here’s the last communication I sent to try to keep this private. Note it had been a full 10 days from the date you told me you’d return from your trip. This was easily avoidable. Rerunning a message certainly was the far easier path. I’m extremely reasonable and would have taken any small gesture as “good enough”.

It’s not even a chip matter at this point. It an issue with ghosting someone for a month over grandma when this could have easily been resolved privately. When I had major back surgery (ALIF on L4/L5/S1) last year, my wife had to pick up my son from school that very day. Still needed to feed him, pay bills, handle shit, etc while I was in the hospital for 4 days. And you know what she mainly did when she came to visit? Looked at her phone and returned messages. Your granny must have been pretty spry to keep you busy for an entire month. I got maybe 4 hours before life resumed.

But saying I scammed you? Post pics of the chips when you received them. All 340 (or 339 apparently) and let everyone here judge the condition and whether they’re the same chips as I sent you photos of. Post pics of the chips now. You can’t make shitty chips into great chips. Shitty chips will by somewhat less shitty if you put a bunch of work into them. Crispy edges don’t grow back with elbow grease. Please post some pics.

It makes absolutely no sense to “rip you off” when I’ve sold shitty racks on here for less money when they’re shitty and I’ve described all other racks I’ve sold well and no one has had any issues with my chips. I have another probably 30 racks of starbursts that I’m going to get around to selling eventually. I’m in no hurry because I don’t need the money. What’s the motivation of bait and switching these particular chips but not the other 15 or so racks I’ve sold to other people?
