That’s some lofty company.
I can see being attached to them. The first large, public effort to break through the Paulson gate - I can see why they’d seem special to people. But the actual physical chips? I dunno, I just feel like it’s been done better before and since.
But subjective taste keeps a hobby like this alive!

Agreed. I could sell all my chips except the ACF hybrids tourney, and Pacific Star cash, and be happy.

As a matter of fact, I believe I'll do just that, if I can get off my dead, lazy ass... o_O

I always wonder if it's now illegal to use lead in production or just discontinued because it's dangerous to work with. Sad for those of us who were too young or too broke to have a shot at them while they were more plentiful.

Joking they don't do it for me either. Why? Maybe out of spite cause I didn't get invited to the "boat chip party," or maybe cause it's turned into a "Greed is good" thing. Probably the latter cause I have free health care and a Cuban themed set...call me a commie ;)

I think the feel depends a bit on the mold, but I’ll agree on the colour palette, at least for certain colours.

Putting together a CPC set now. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that I have a Paulson colour sample next to the CPC one, but it really makes me notice the difference.

Still, I’m happy we have CPC as it’s really the only clay option out there now.

It’s the material feel
They are as hard as glass disks to me
 
I was absolutely loving this thread until I saw some chips I love getting hate!

Here goes:

Anything China Clay.
Anything ceramic.
Anything Cards Mold.
Almost all RHC.
Almost all TRK.

I added an "almost all" to those last two just because I didn't want @DirtyTIVA to go on tilt. (It should read "Anything" too but don't tell him)

I’m definitely in the “TRKs are overrated camp” but I’m sure most would agree that those Pick Hobson fracs are pure fire.

For clarification, I think one of the reasons I struggle to like TRKs more than I do in general is the lack of variety with edge spots compared to Paulson. Next to that, most of the inlays I can think of are basic (read boring) as heck.

I’ve said it before though, this place sure would be boring if we all loved the same stuff!
