Hello everyone new to the poker chip forum! I have a question or in need of suggestions. I am hosting a 40-60 player poker tournament. I have on order 5,000 (the ultimate poker chip) 5 sets of 1000 poker chips. I have see. These chips often come with flashing is the a quick and easy method to clean these up. I have mineral oil on order as well and intend to lightly oil all the chips as well. But 5000 chips will take some time to clean up any suggestions?

I can't speak about the flashing, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that you should 100% not oil these. They are not clay chips. They are metal slugged plastic, and you will just end up with an oily mess.

Agreed on the oil…don’t do it.
Also, 5,000 chips is a huge amount for a 4 to 6 table tournament.
What’s as your tournament structure and starting stacks?

We got that much cause next year we are gonna open it up to others and just wanted to pre get all the chips in advance.
5000 starting stack
25/50 20min levels
50/100
75/150
100/200
So on then it gets more intense as the levels go up and breaks where we color up
I did a lot of research and found this to be best structure for a 6hour tournament

Thanks on the oiling tip didn’t know they weren’t clay that’s fine but did want to clean up the flashing I have 1000 on me know and they are rough perhaps a some fine sand paper

If you want to sand the edges, I’d recommend a sanding sponge, as it can adapt to the curve of the chips, and be a lot more effective than sheet sandpaper.
I would do a barrel at a time, sanding lightly with 220 or higher grit, across the edge of the 20-chip stack. Maybe place them in a rack and rotate as you go.

5000 chips, spread efficiently, can easily cover 12-15 tables. Are you sure you need that

Thanks that helps!

I think people start taking their clothes off.
Hahaha now that’s a tournament! Haha

Just throw 'em in a rock tumbler for 30 minutes.
Would destroy the stickers

Really didn’t know it would cover that many
Starting stack consisted of
2 $1000 yellows
2 $500 purples
5 $100 blacks
15 $50 light blues
30 $25 greens

Thats
120 yellows needed
120 purples needed
300 blacks needed
900 light blues needed
1800 greens needed
3,240 chips needed just for starting stacks alone or am I looking at This all wrong?

Literally this is happening inside of a tent.
We have a big venue not no tent

Ahh I see, but this is very inefficient.
First, scrap the T50, totally unnecessary.
Secondly, each player doesn’t need 30 T25 chips, 12 is more than enough. So your starting stacks should look more like 12/12/5/1 of 25/100/500/1000 for a 5K start.

PCF diagrees.

Your stacks are very inefficient, sorry to say.

No T50. Use your light blues as T5000 for colour ups. 12/12/5/1 would work well for T5k, or 12/12/5/6 for T10k.

Yes. Ditto on the blind structure.
