I remember in the good old days playing poker all night at Foxwoods. In the early morning hours, I remember the staff talking about washing chips but I could never see the process. Any recommendations on how to clean or wash chips? I imagine the process it different for each material and type of chip. Assuming washing is possible, are there chips that should not be washed?

for normal gunk , I usually just let chips soak in hot water with a little dish soap, then rub chips with a sponge or magic eraser. Most of the time, this helps a ton.

Although there’s some chips that are some real McNasties that just won’t ever get clean

I'm a fan of Oxy, half strength, hot water. Let it dissolve fully as the water cools. Check the bottom of the container. If you feel a crystal, keep stirring. Soak, magic eraser.

Oxy and ASM/CPC are a quick trip to damaged chips and chipper sadness. Ultarsonic and TSP are apparently also bad news for those as well. I have bleached out a bit of the vibrance in DG chips from Paulson with Oxy, so use care or test on a sacrificial chip.

Plenty of cleaning threads around here with a bit of a search and look around.

I did see a "casino grade" chip cleaner on eBay many, many years ago. That might be what the Foxwoods folks used.

All of the above depending on the chips. If I have a couple of racks I’ll use the US machine with a pre-soak in water/dish soap.

If just doing a handful, I’ve had good luck with a pre-soak and then use Sterlings Magic and a toothbrush or fingernail brush.

Yup. No ASM CPC in Oxy. Spaced that fact. Thanks dude.

Initially, I thought about this
