Cheating allegations at Stones (9 Viewers)

Justin/JFK their tourney/poker director was in Vegas for a few weeks of the series, I ran into him at the Big50 where he was one of the floors. That defintiely doesn’t look great, I want to believe it was one of the production techs involved if anyone, but idk now.

Wow. We have direct corroboration through PCF?!?!

This is getting insane.

I think it’s going to be pretty easy to uncover the truth. I wonder if law enforcement gets involved.

Some of Justin's comments in the booth defending Mike and predicting sick laydowns is pretty suspect.

I agree.

Doug Polk didn’t think much of Justin’s commentary. I think it is incredibly dodgy. He’s always making excuses for his bad decisions... or ABOUT to be bad decisions.

And the “thug life” memes about how Mike just always “gets there” are absurd. WTF were they thinking??? It was like a massive trolling of the viewing audience.

Did anyone watch Joey's video? I wonder if the few times that the "reader was wrong" showing that Postle was making a ridiculous play but then "clearing it up" by saying "the reader was wrong, he's actually shoving with the nuts not just 8 high" would correlate with the booth guys covering for him.

If the investigation is able to get their phone records this will take about 5 minutes to solve.

I also wonder if the people that run Live at the Bike heard about this months ago because the commentators are not allowed to have phones in the booth at all now. That policy has been in effect for a while.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened ... I just don’t know how much interest the police typically take.

I think one of the more likely vehicles for cheating would not be texting, but a livestream of the game without the 30min delay. This wouldn’t look particularly suspicious as a lot of players watch the (delayed) livestream while playing. Shockingly Brent Harrington who works for poker news and was a commentator on and off for a few months at Stones mentioned walking in one day and seeing a live stream of the current hand on the TVs in the room (where there is usually the 30min delayed stream playing) which he mentioned to Justin who downplayed it and immediately corrected the issue. This is a little terrifying if true.

When the figures move into the hundreds of thousands of dollars I imagine at the very least the Gaming Commission will be a little interested...

There has to be someone wanting to press charges. The casino doesn’t want the bad publicity. They are more likely to pay off people to keep them quiet and get rid of the employee(s) involved.

What I found interesting was the videos where JFK was in Vegas and not at the Stones Mike has his phone on the rail and not particularly interested in it. Also they note his demeanor and not winning that session. I will also mention that the phone appears different but that could just be a case vs no case. In the losing session it looks all black but in the Polk video it looks metallic when he flips it over.

It will also be interesting to see the ramifications for other televised events especially the WSOP. I’m certain this is an isolated instance but just too much smoke to not make significant changes in policy(ies).

Gaming regulation works on the expectation of self reporting. Casinos are not likely to lose a license due to the discovery of cheating. However, they are likely to lose a license due to hiding known cheating from the applicable gaming agency.

Finally, nothing stops someone who plays at a casino from reporting suspicious activities and/or concerns of integrity to the applicable gaming commission.

and yeah, between this and the pending Lakeshore auction I don't know how anyone is supposed to eat/sleep/shower much less work.
This is so much more interesting than the Lakeshore auction. Although my wife has been asking why I’ve had a sudden urge to sell a bunch of stuff around the house. :whistling:
