Nobody’s posted about this here? I just learned that somebody out in the UK is cooking up a little embedded device for tournaments. I’m not a tournament boy, but I have had the thought that if I was, I’d get tempted to tinker with Raspberry Pi and do something… just like this. As with shuffling (and many non-poker things besides), gizmos can be more trouble than they are worth; I live a fairly analog life and feel that it’d be hard to improve on the humble kitchen timer. But I’m sure that there is someone in the audience here that is a gadget guy and, for them, this would scratch that itch.

Alas, it is not an open source thing (in hopes of recouping some cost, I’m sure), and management is SaaS-like using a centralized server.
