I'm just curious to hear some opinions of what everyone considers the best chips at tournament denominations to be. I'm sure there will be tons of different opinions, but if cost and availability were irrelevant what would your chosen set be?

I have two tourney sets:

5-25-100-500-1000-5000

and

5-25-100-500-1000-5000-25000

Both can accommodate a variety of starting stacks and # of players.

I think the biggest difference you are going to see in preferences here are:

1) to include a T5 or not to include a T5

2) include a T1000 or use a T2000 (or T2500) chip

Dunno what exactly the OP is looking for, but I have one tournament set with these denominations:

T5
T25
T100
T500
T1000
T5000
T25000
T100000
T250000
T500000
T1000000

Pretty much covers everything.

Oh, and this:

Those Paulsons from Paris really need to be the end of the conversation. There are many other wonderful tournament sets out there, but none can hold a candle.

Most mathematically appealing to me is

5
25
100
500
2000
10000
50000
200000
1M

But @BGinGA posted the most common and most well loved.

I just realized I don't need any more chips and definitely am not going to start a new set...

But I'll take one of each (y)  :ROFLMAO: :p

The top 3 are probably some of my favourite chips ever, but the rest of the set is decidedly average.
So what tournament set is better?
I think I hear what you're saying - the rest of the set, the chips all have the same spot pattern; the inlay isn't very exciting - they're not the greatest chips Paulson ever produced.
But we're talking tournament chips. Inlaid THC tournament sets are pretty rare. Can you show me one better?

Not saying it’s a deal breaker for me because the set is still amazing, I just don’t love the 614 edgespot unless it has at least 2 colours, but that’s just me.

I probably couldn’t choose between the aztar hotstamped tourney, aviation clubs and the bcc wsop replicas.

In summary, I’m no help at all. Can I just have the wsop replicas made by Paulson and be done with it.

1.) Winner Club

2). Ritz Carltons

Wouldn't give you $2 a chip for either one, unless for resale tomorrow. Cluttered, pseudo-artsy, not even up to PNYs.

The ACFs, on the other hand, are stupendous! And they have the huge advantage of coming from a casino that actually emphasized poker, rather than being 99% slots.
