What’s up guys, I truly feel like every topic on this site has been covered but I was looking for maybe a 2024 update. In y’all’s opinion, what is the best yellow Paulson chip in terms of looks, availability, and price to relabel to $20 for a cash set (preferably THC but a RHC works too). I’ve heard many people say to find what you really like and get it over with quick so you don’t spend $100s on random barrels and sample sets when it comes to planning a Paulson set. I’m still pretty wet behind the ears in this whole community but I’ve found the Cache Creek $1s to be a great one however the obsolete THCs are bit harder to come by than the newer house mold. The Boulder Crossing $2 seem to pop up every once in awhile but is a little lackluster in my opinion. The RPC and Tigers have some amazing yellows but seem to be a bit out of my price range, although if it comes down to it these really seem like my best option. I’ve spent my fair share of time browsing ChipGuide but it’s pretty tedious looking over so many casinos. Seems like maybe some Cali $5s could be a good fit? But I’m not to well versed in the multitude of chips that are out there. I was just curious what y’all’s opinions are. Thanks!

Honestly, trying to recommend a chip to use as a $20 without seeing the rest of the lineup seems like a fruitless task. Cohesion of a single chip with the rest of the lineup matters (at least it should, imo).

Thanks for the reply, this is definitely something I’ve considered but I’m pretty early in my search and learning everyday. Currently I’m starting from the top and working down. Hoping to keep it pretty traditional with Blue fractional 25¢, White $1s, Red $5s, and Yellow $20s. Blue and white $1s seem pretty easy to come by. Yellow chips on the other hand seen the hardest to pin down. Honestly just looking to see what options I really even have in terms of semi-available chips.
And I assume you are okay if you need to relabel? Or do you need an existing $20 yellow chip?
Yes relabel/overlabel is the plan. I still need to do more research on that, however, I’ll cross that bridge when I get there I suppose.

Not only the basic colour but edgespot, the edgespot colour, the spot progression.
People will not be able to give suggestions without the lineup, some suggestions might cause issue like dirty stacks for etc
For example, I ultimately choosen my relabel fracs because it matched with my $1 $25 & $100 edgespot and also the ability to get them in Excellent condition too
Definitely like the THC mold a bit more than the RHC but open to both at the moment. And yes NAGB chips really seem to be the cream of the crop in this scenario. That’s a rabbit hole I’ve attempted to go down but it seems like it keeps going a long way haha such an interesting topic
Looking to create a lineup around the $20 chip if that makes sense. They are the hardest to come by so it seems like starting there and working down will be my plan

Great point to consider. Really like the table being stacked with chips so some nice $1s would probably be in the mix. Maybe THC New York Las Vegas $1 chips or THC Venetian $1s. Still early in the planning process, I assume next will actually be tracking down all these chips

Tiger Palace Alt $5s or the Arc Yellow NVC may just be my grail but the Empress Star are very nice, and already labeled for $20. Hmmm more to consider, thanks for the pic

But also just as important, what stakes do you play?
I've played 0.25/.50 where barely any $20's or $25's even get on the table. I've played small buy in $1/$2 games that barely see any $20/$25's on the table as well because they use lots of $5's. My point is if you're group plays smaller stakes you might not even need that many $20's so then you can up the budget on those.
I am one of those guys that likes a lot of chips on the table so even if buying in for $300 at a $1/$3 game I'd prefer to have 20 - $1's and $280 - $5's and no $20's or $25's but that's just me.

The yellow tiger frac has been posted for sale frequently over the last month or so that would be a great candidate
Finding something already been murdered is a big time and money saver. Also less shipping involved.
Well the good news is all 3 of those options are NAGB and available however none will be $5/chip. Agree with above comments regarding the rest of your lineup and how things will fit together.
If you pick a yellow THC $20 your $5 will have to be red THC and assuming that is your workhorse your options will be far more limited, not to mention the cost. I suggest you settle on your workhorse chip first and acquire it in quantity before picking a $20.
Since this is your first time building a set, I would also recommend the RHC mold so you can afford mistakes and the learning experiences are not so costly. Even if you think this is your forever set, it won’t be.

I might have 1 or 2 loose barrels of these. I’ll have to check. But let me know if interested. RPC $5s murdered and relabeled. The label should be easy to remove.
The more I see these the more I think I want them……. People better act quick or they may be gone.
It's really too bad that the Boulder Station $2 is a tri-moon. Almost any other spot pattern would have been better.
I second this. If you pick a yellow THC as a $20 you’re basically stuck with only Tiger primary $5s and CDI98 $5s as THC red $5 options. Replacing the inlay on CDI98 can be notoriously difficult @Nanook . All other matching condition THC $5s are close to unobtainable in quantity. Casino used $5s will not match the condition of your target $20 chips. $1s are relatively easy to get. Just use Paris $1s.
Hmm good to know, here I was worried about the $20s when the $5s may be the real PITA to get in larger quantities, thanks for that insight
