I recently picked up a Harbor Freight Apache 4800 Pelican style case for my HS Cleveland cash set. I plucked two layers of foam to accommodate 10 Paulson racks. However, the top layer of the racks sits about 3/4" below the top of foam and puts no pressure on the chips allowing them to come loose during transit. Part of the problem is the loose fit of HS casino used chips (yes they are Paulson racks). Perhaps I only should have only plucked one layer or foam. I still have the foam sections I plucked. I did try adding one of plucked layers on top of the racks and the case will close, giving it a very tight fit. I have not tried transporting using this method yet.
Is there a better option? Should I get a new layer of foam and only pluck one layer? If so, is there a source for replacement foam? What have others done using this case?
