2022 Vegas Trip Report. November 16th to 24th. (5 Viewers)

Hey @jr8719. Following the thread. Curious how you make out with your trip and harvesting.

Just FYI, if you make it to Jerry's Nugget, you may want to lower your expectations about harvesting. Around 5 years ago or so, I stopped by Jerry's Nugget while I was out in Vegas, and here's what I encountered. It's a very small casino, no poker room, some blackjack and other table games & a couple of craps tables. They were running a $3 craps table at the time, which I played at (and lost) to harvest some $1 chips.

Also, as I recall, around 80% of the $1s chips are the larger inlay RHC version, and some of the THC chips were worn. I seem to recall reading that the THC version was a special issue, and I don't think they've made anymore new issues since then (although I don't know for sure since I was there 5 years ago.) At the time, I think I was able to harvest around 40 or so chips -- the $3 craps made it easy, and I tipped the dealers by asking for change for a $5., and pocketed some of the nicer $1 chips. I think I asked the cage if they had any $1 chips, and they couldn't sell them in racks, but the cashier did search out and find a couple nicer $1s for me.

Who dares to make such big Inlays on this beautiful chip o_O

Gun range followed by a hot dog sandwich at Dirt Dog? I feel so American right now!

The fact that I'm a massive Resident Evil aside, the Beretta was my absolute fave to shoot, followed by the sniper rifle. The AK47 just didn't do it for me, tbh.

Food was unreal — would recommend.

Off for a cigar at Montecristo Cigar Lounge, then will head to Bellagio for some $1-3 before dinner at Primal tonight.

I don't know what they put in the drinks Downtown, but still feeling a little drunk after last night. Initial impressions are that I much rather Downtown to the Strip.

Honestly, Oscar's at The Plaza has completely redefined what a good steak means to me — easily in my top three meals of all-time. I actually told them that if I have a better meal while I'm in Vegas, I'll run down the Strip / Downtown naked.

44oz Tomahawk with bone marrow, creamed spinach and blue cheese sauce. Was too full for the Shishito peppers, sadly, haha!

Ended the night pretty drunk at El Cortez playing $10 blackjack. The table I was at was such a good laugh, with an incredibly fun dealer, to boot. Bought in for $110 and got down to $40 before literally just saying "f**k it" and putting it all on one hand, after which I shouted "I'm definitely getting a blackjack on this one."

Dealer gives me a Queen of diamonds, followed by the Ace of diamonds!

And that seemed like a good time to call it quits and end the night. To be continued...
Downtown rocks. Lots of good Craps gambol. The Circa sports book is epic. I like GN a bunch too.

After getting back from Battlefield yesterday and having lunch and a cigar, I headed to Bellagio after for a $1-3 session before dinner.

Sat down with $300 but was an absolute grind, I won't lie; I was down to $140 at my lowest point, but managed to flop trip fours and get paid to finish the session on $290. I do love that poker room, especially when it was full like yesterday; the atmosphere and vibe is electric.

Also looks like I'm running down the Strip and Downtown naked, because last night's meal was even better than Oscar's.

It's a taxi or drive away from the Strip, but Primal is completely worthy of its #1 spot for Vegas restaurants on Tripadvisor.

I was down to 1%, so could only manage a shitty photo (sorry for the lighting @joeyshin — wasn't enough battery to use the flash). Bone marrow to start, followed by a 28oz porterhouse with foie gras, and a side of four-cheese mac and cheese with lobster tail. The bearnaise sauce wasn't great, but we'll forgive them.

I then decided to head to Resorts World, as I wanted to check out their new cigar lounge, Eight. A bit too noisy and lively, music wise, for it to take the top spot from Montecristo lounge at Caesars, but a great lounge, nevertheless.

I was blown away by Resorts World, quite frankly; everything is so clean, classy and fresh. Decided to head to their poker room instead of Bellagio's, which was the plan originally after the cigar. Let's just say I'm glad I did... In for $280 and out for $614 45 minutes later:

Went one better than my flopped set of fours at the Bellagio earlier with flopped quads, followed by a nut flush on the turn a few hands later. Managed to get paid for both and, on a side note, I really like their chips. These would have been insane had they been THCs — especially the $1.

Right, time for Bazaar Meats and Aerosmith later on today. Thanks for reading!

@jr8719 sounds like you’re doing Vegas right and having a blast! Love it! Makes me want to go to Vegas. Haven’t been in several years!

Look forward to your Aerosmith review. Enjoy!

Looks like you're having a shit time!

I think I went to Primal one night, I can't be certain, but we did an off strip night of food and drinks, was great fun. Wish I could remember  :ROFLMAO:

Aladdin Manhattan "Smoked". Such a shame Sahara isn't closer to the Strip as I love it here and would happily stay.

If you get down to old town again, Carson Kitchen has been amazing every time I've visited. Off strip but close to it is Oyster Bar at Palace Station, but go at a strange time or wait in line. Off the beaten path in the Art's District is Velveteen Rabbit. Nice, chill lounge.

+1 for Carson Kitchen. It is the only place where @Mrs Poker Zombie (a natural pacifist) threatened to stab the waitress with a fork, if she tried to remove the dish with a little bacon jam still remaining.

Let's talk about last night...

Bazaar Meats by Jose Andres is just, well, Bazaar Meats by Jose Andres. A truly once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience and worth every cent.

The cotton candy wrapped foie gras is the single greatest thing I've ever tasted in my life. Closely followed by the mashed potato for main, then the dry-aged Washugyu chuleton, and then the beef tartare.

Aerosmith turned up an hour later than scheduled, which was annoying — but I guess they wouldn't be true rock and roll stars if they turned up on time, would they? Regardless, they were worth the wait, as it was a concert for the ages.

The fact that Steven Tyler is 74 and still manages to sing like someone half his age is beyond me.

Very interesting hand at the Bellagio $1-3 this morning. Sat down with $270, which I managed to run up to about $340.

That went down to $205 as I look at :6s::6c: in the big blind. Three limpers around to me and don't feel as though there's a huge point in raising; let's try and mine a set for free.

Flop comes :8c::6d::jd:. Bingo.

I bet $4 into a $12 pot. Don't want to scare anyone off but want to start building the pot and see where I am.

Middle position raises to $10, and I just flat. Other players fold. Feel as though I'm up against a flush or combo draw here.

Turn card comes :tc:, completing the straight. I bet out $20 into $32 and get a call from the remaining player.

River comes :td:, completing the flush and my full house. I bet $50 into a pot of $72.

My stack is at about $120 at this point, when opponent (who's played pretty medium to loose thus far after only an hour at the table) shoves all-in. She has me covered by about $80, and I'm pretty confused.

I'm counting out pocket Jacks as she would have almost certainly raised pre-flop.

I'm thinking some sort of combo draw like :qd::9d: initially — but feel as though I'm somehow beat. Surely she wouldn't raise so much with a flush in this spot, unless that's what she puts me on?

Anyway, I'm not here to fold boats for $120, so make the call.

Thoughts as to what she flipped over?
