Most important things first: harvesting plans!

Two more racks of these:

One more racks of these (unlikely, I know):

A rack or two of these (even more unlikely, yes):

Oh, and a couple of racks of these (a chipper can dream, right?):

wow Jerry's Nugget $1 looks great! Why are they hard to harvest? Cage won't sell racks of 1's?
Casino cages outside of poker rooms aren't supposed to sell any chips. And 95% of the time they don't. Maybe 5 or less for "souvenirs "

And as for Jerry's nugget, the decent sharp chips are few and far between of the usual bike tires.

This is why we love you, dude! Your hard work and expertise saves us time and keeps our harvesting expectations in check.

Have a great time. I was at Caesar's a month ago, and only had about 2 hours of total time at any sort of gaming. Work trips to Vegas are not as much fun as fun trips.

Hey @jr8719. Following the thread. Curious how you make out with your trip and harvesting.

Just FYI, if you make it to Jerry's Nugget, you may want to lower your expectations about harvesting. Around 5 years ago or so, I stopped by Jerry's Nugget while I was out in Vegas, and here's what I encountered. It's a very small casino, no poker room, some blackjack and other table games & a couple of craps tables. They were running a $3 craps table at the time, which I played at (and lost) to harvest some $1 chips.

Also, as I recall, around 80% of the $1s chips are the larger inlay RHC version, and some of the THC chips were worn. I seem to recall reading that the THC version was a special issue, and I don't think they've made anymore new issues since then (although I don't know for sure since I was there 5 years ago.) At the time, I think I was able to harvest around 40 or so chips -- the $3 craps made it easy, and I tipped the dealers by asking for change for a $5., and pocketed some of the nicer $1 chips. I think I asked the cage if they had any $1 chips, and they couldn't sell them in racks, but the cashier did search out and find a couple nicer $1s for me.

Yeah, I'm probably not even going to bother heading there, in all reality. Seems like a lot of time and effort for what is more than likely going to be a barrel, if I'm lucky.

We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Odds...

Landing in Vegas at 7pm local time, then will check in and dump my bags in my room at The Flamingo.

Plan is to then pop my In-N-Out cherry, hit a cigar lounge then play a midnight tournament at Caesars Pal.

Damn, people weren't lying about the fries here being awful, were they?!

The chips to fries exchange rate gets screwed up in the conversion from the metric system… or something. Animal Style or GTFO.

Anyways, enjoy your trip! Looking forward to reading through your experience. Run good. See Ka at MGM if you are into shows.

Cold take: Animal Style doesn't make the fries good, or even better; they're still shit fries that get masked by the heaping pile of shit people put on them, which works so well because they lack any flavor of their own to begin with. They're merely vessels that exist to justify the consumption of animal sauce (or whatever tf they call it) so people aren't driven to straight drinking it. Fight me. :whistling:

Their burgers are pretty solid though, no complaints here.

Have an awesome time my friend! I use to go to Vegas 5 to 6 times per year when I was younger because I live so close!

Many things have changed in that time; more hotels, more table games (although more virtual), better restaurants, and some great golf courses if you’re into that!

My dad worked in Vegas for years,: Advice: never gamble heavily in the first part of your trip!

Have a great trip my friend, too bad we couldn’t meet there…
Keep us updated and save some hot seats, less then 30 day for my departure to Sin City

Counter: light well at least makes them edible rather a hot limp mess.
This is what I never understood when vicariously watching people eat In-N-Out on the tube, if everyone likes the fries better cooked a little longer, why not just make that the standard and make every weird guy who likes soggy pale yellow fries make a special request instead?

Light well or animal style are the only ways they’re edible. How’d you like the burger though?
Burger was brilliant, absolutely no doubt about it. Will have it animal style next time though — same for the fries, too. I had them well done but, in hindsight, they probably would have been better a little soggier.

Yeah, gutted our trips didn't overlap, dude — would have been so cool.

Thanks for all the In-N-Out advice, peeps — much appreciated.

First night has been a blast; managed to get through the airport and to the hotel in about an hour, which was a pleasant surprise as I anticipated at least two.

Registered for a midnight tournie at Caesars, but I was the only runner, so just had to have a refund. Managed to spend some time in the Montecristo cigar lounge at Caesars though, which was phenomenal.

Decided to play $1-3 at Bellagio instead — and glad I did! Awesome room and super soft game; in for $300 and out for $415 after two following a three-hour session. Lots of near mint chips on the felt... Just a shame I don't like house molds, haha!

Time to sleep for a few hours. Midday tournament at The Wynn awaits.
