2020 Custom Set of the Year entry thread (now open) (1 Viewer)

I only rent a room in Upland, and have only two lights in said room (needless to say I do not have room for a poker table), so I'm borrowing a couple of well-taken shots from my buddy @sheikh617 to officially register the Midnight Casino chips for ceramic hybrid and chip set of the year. I think you'll like how well these came out. :)

I can take some nicer photos with my Nikon. These were just some quick snaps with poor lighting on my cell.

Yes please. Get some really good ones if you can before the end of the year so they can show them for the tournament, like I said, I only rent one room, as it is when I start doing poker, I'll be using a dining room table for the foreseeable future. :)

Not that I have any illusions of winning, but just because I want to be part of the 2020 contest, i will go ahead and enter the Free River Club Tournament Set. (PGI/ABC 8v CC custom relabel. Would enter for "best relabel".)

Yes.

As a tribute, the chips already exist, and this is just a fresh look at them. They should probably go into the open class, but I'm willing to listen to arguments for a different class.

To be honest I hesitated with my Reno whether they should be going to the relabel class or open class since they are a tribute to the WSOP inlay design.
The thing is that each category is more related to the material of the chips or how they have been customized and not related to the design itself.

So in the end I think mine should be in the relabel and the New China Club in the ceramics.

I'm kinda doing this ad hoc, so bear with me.

Tribute chips are welcome. But to the extent that they aren't really creating a new design (just sprucing up and old design), I think they should go in the open class, which is kind of a catch all for all entries that don't fit elsewhere.

That's why I put the China Club tributes in the Open Class. Your CA-NV chips have a change in the label, which I felt was enough to put them into the relabel category.

FWIW, if there are only a few entries in the Open Class, they will be moved into one of the other classes and the Open Class will be shut down.

OK, cool, well, I'm happy with them going into the Open Class, for sure. I've got a feeling that the category will fill up now you've confirmed people can enter tribute sets; I think there are a fair few in the GB @SeanGecko is running.

Like you said, if there aren't enough in that category, they'll probably end up in the Ceramic / Hybrid one instead. Thanks for your help with arranging all this — much appreciated.

If this happens, I think a Tribute Class would actually be a good idea. @WedgeRock ?
