PerthMike's 2019 Vegas Trip Report (1 Viewer)

Right I booked venetian. I even found a coupon code through Orbitz (best website ever, I love that company) so it's only $299 including taxes and the extortionate $51 resort fee.

As usual, thanks for the quick opinions.

She'll love the venetian. Not sure about AU living, but their standard rooms are bigger than some Euro apartments I've been in.

When I was 21 we did a Vegas trip and stayed at the Venetian. I learned to play craps and won like 600 bucks which was huge for me at the time being a college student. I was like "I love craps!"

11 years later I've played craps at a casino about 10 more times and have lost over 2k in those games. I've never had a winning session since then. The last time I played was a bachelor party in Atlantic City a few years ago. Played for about 30 minutes, no one hit a single number and lost $200. I told myself never again.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

But seriously, the bathrooms in the Venetian are really nice though.

Right I need advice within the next 20 minutes. I'm going back to Vegas a night early. My options are

Paris - $144
Wynn - $204
Venetian - $236

I cancelled my bishop reservation and got $134 refunded. I'm thinking maybe just stumping up the cash and going Venetian. Natalie's always wanted to stay there, but the Wynn is also pretty awesome. I obviously haven't seen the rooms, but the casino and poker room were lovely.

I deliberately didn't go Into the Venetian, because Natalie didn't want me to until she arrived. Between the Venetian and Wynn, which is supposed to be better?
Stay at Palazzo, bella suite, poker room rate, play x hours a day, roughly 50 % off. You both will thank me later

Ouch, call Palazzo directly and ask for poker rate and play a Venetian

My wife only goes to Vegas, when I promise to get the suite. Lots of good eats and shopping within the Palazzo/ Venetian complex. Enjoy the time with your family!

Find St Mark's Square in Venetian - usually some live music or other entertainment - it's on the upper level.

Also the folks doing the living statue pose is always kind of cool.

Some more Yosemite photos.

Yosemite was amazing, but we were so tired from the 6 hour upper Yosemite Falls hike that we couldn't face doing vernal falls. Instead we cancelled our reservation at Bishop, got up super earluz went to El Cap and Bridalveil Falls, left in the morning and drove all the way to Vegas to get one extra night in. Venetian was a good choice.

So I'm checking into the Cosmo in a few hours. I've already booked a terrace studio with fountain view, but I desperately want to get into a suite.

I think the $20 trick isn't going to work, so I might try the $50 trick. What's the bet that my $50 gets pocketed, but I don't get the upgrade  :ROFLMAO:.

I must say, I find the whole prospect of trying to slip someone a bribe rather embarrassing. I'm sure I'm going to mess up the process.

Don’t worry mate. When I did it they held the money in the air so that the supervisor could see it and when he gave the nod the receptionist told me what rooms where available. It’s a really common practice and the staff are all open about it. One of my mates tried it after me and was told that they had no upgrades left and his money was returned to him.

I don’t think they will take it without giving you what you want. Checking in on a Sunday helps.

Just set it on the counter and say, “we’re hoping to upgrade to a suite with a fountain view. First time in Vegas!” And smile. :D

I thought Harrah's were stingy with their $1 chips.

The Cosmopolitan cage refused to give me a rack of $1s and then 4 tables refused to give me either a barrel or 2 $5s and 10 $1s.

I'm persistant though, I'll get a rack of those chips somehow lol

Finally came downtown for an authentic seedy old-school Vegas experience.

Went into Tony Roma's in Fremont Casino, because who doesn't love babyback ribs. Overall it's definitely seedy and smelly. Robs were good. Looking forward to getting back to the strip  :ROFLMAO:

I'm hoping to fill out the third rack of Paris before I leave, if the wife lets me ;)
