Making the right decisions is the hard part and your are doing that. The rest is just a matter of time. We stand behind you and you need to stand behind yourself.

What’s up railbirds.
I have some bad news and some good news.
I’ll start with the bad news…tried 2 shots at the $600 event.
First bullet I got it in bad with JJ after low card flop, turn is 9 (no straight or flush possibilities) but villain pushes. I’m 50/50 fold (set or overpair) or call (AK or AQ)…he did raise to 4BB in mid position and called my 4-bet).
Second bullet I was card dead for 5 levels (level 3-8)…got 1010 once (folded to me), AKs (had to aboard after flop on monotone board) and JJ (won 3 BB). Got 40%!of my remaining stack in PF with jacks and flop brings an ace…she pushes and I fold.
I nurture those chips, able to spin it up but always below average and altho I really tried…I couldn’t build a day 2 stack en lost with A10 vs AJs…board bricked out.
I walked back to Shoe, had some food (Dirt Dogg) and started a cash game to try and qualify for the freeroll.
I was seated at a very deep 1/3 game and was ready for battle. Needed about 5,5h of play to qualify.
I tore that cash table up in those 6 hours I played, no suck-outs or luckboxing…but didn’t get hit with cold deck once…
In for 300 and out….
+1900 out
I know this doesn’t change anything for the backers money wise but it’s huge for my morale.
If have 2 or 3 more of these sessions,
I’ll put some of that cash back in the pot or you guys get. It also really helps to set-off some of my overhead like food, flights, …
Can sleep a few hours and then we switch to Shoe…I also have a freeroll there at 10h00.
After that, we will go to Orleans for the Super Sunday (+100k GTD for 300 buy-in).
Only way is up now…

You already had a lot in that pot and laying in it down would've felt equally as horrible. And you would not have known you made the right read so the would have lingered in your brain. At least you know your read was spot on.
You played it right. You got your money in good. Don't be results oriented. You are making the right plays and just getting the wrong side of variance.
Keep it up. Don't worry about the backers. Just play your game.

Good morning fam…couldn’t get things going at Orleans. Due to room change from Harrah’s to Horseshoe (new check-in) and the freeroll, Rufus and I could only make to Orleans at 13h.
I took the time to feel out the table, played Axs twice, AKo and AJ but had to abort post flop.
Then I get pocket 9’s in the BB and call a 3bb raise from late position. If I’m deeper, I might 4-bet but now I decide to play it safe and just call to see the flop I can still abort on a bad flop and have over 20bb left.
Board comes 9104 rainbow.
Villain goes for continuation bet of 6bb.
I raise to half of my stack and want to make to the turn expensive in case he is on a draw…not backing down. He jams….fuuuuuuuuuuck
I have to call but I know he has no AA or KK…I hope has JJ or QQ but nope 1010…
And out… I’ll have to think a bit more what I could have done better. Not sweating it tho, set over set is always a cooler.
Dan picked me up and we had a very tasty pizza, stayed the night at the casita.
A free day today…kicking it and ramping up to the coming days. It can still happen fam…mindset is good.

99 vs TT on a 9T4 board is a cooler every day of the week in my book. Unless you have a solid read on villian, I don't see how you fold that without high risk of overfolding.
Runs like this just suck but you have to keep your head up and keep trying. Eventually you'll come out on the other side.

No getting away from that set over set hand. Another cold deck. Most A10, K10 type hands can take that line. So can 4's. Unlikely 9/10 does that but never know. You're still getting correct odds to call there.
Playing PLO has given me a much greater pain tolerance for stuff like this. It sucks, but it was your time to die. I think with a short stack you’re better off jamming, but I am not qualified to give tournament advice. And result would have been the same. Better luck in the next one.

Thanks so much guys, I’m 100% back in good spirit and enjoying Vegas again.
Sure, a deep run or two would have been awsome but I still have a lot of fight in me and if I get a chance I’m ready for it.
Did some hand reviews in crucial spots and all all in hands last night with a friend (+15 years pro) and same conclusion, some real set-up hands, no chance.
He confirmed he would have done almost all identical… I just need to brush it off on bad luck and get back in gear.
Enjoying the fantastic weather and kicking it at Red Rock Tonight we celibrate Dan’s belated birthday and I’ll play some cash tonight (if the tables are good) to get my hours in for the Wednesday freeroll.
Sure, a deep run or two would have been awsome but I still have a lot of fight in me and if I get a chance I’m ready for it.

I thought about it, reason I did not is because I could still fold on a horrible flop. Would be left with about 20bb and not dead. I ran up 20bb more than once and ended up ITM. In these cases you only get called by the better hand and have 2 outs left.
With PLO you are still often at 40/60 pre if you are behind.
