Vegas trip report - World Poker Tour domination - Wynn 2025 [08/12/25 - 19/12/25] (2 Viewers)

I admire your resiliency, these are some setups. Q4 vs QJ on QJ4. Ugh. Have you switched out the card capper? Looks like ACF 200 ain’t getting it done this week
I never get tempted to gamble or play outside the range I should play, using appropriate betting strategy…feeling out the table before playing more hands…etc. I’m representing my backers too (even tho they are AWSOME and there is no pressure).

If you play these big field tournies, this is often how you go mid tourney. On my first table (flight 1D) within 5 orbits (still level 1), the guy on my left busted with AAA66 vs 6666. Even in the first level, I would bust too on that hand.

It’s a constant fight to play correct and still play enough hands to increase your stack and keep pace with the blinds.

I will play the next one with a different one 😉.
Have a great evening all, keep you posted .

Short cash session…

First hand almost up 80 on a 300 buy-in

First break, 2k above SS.. up and down with some super agro players planning on playing second or third bullet like it is nothing.

Most about 40% of my stack with AQs and draw nut draw after the flop. Didn’t came and villain showed AKo

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaack

I get KK with 11k stack, bet 2500 and get one caller. I jam for the rest and he calls with pocket 2’s

IMG_8537.webp

Had to be so fast to take a picture, he already mucked my hand since it took a sec to sink in.
2outer…ffs.

Deck keeps beating me up…but I’m not down.
Can only get it in good but you need to win flips and avoid suck outs.

I would love LOVE to post some deep runs or day 2’s and cashes…but sometimes it just not happening and I’m not sugar coating it…and must admit this one hurt a bit.

Tourney play can be brutal.
My play is solid but so goes for the other players.
Going to the Shoe for some cash and hit the bed on time.

Tomorrow we will try again…$1600 NLHE up next.
Phone is almost dead but will update if it holds until end of cash session.

Have a great evening all.

Don’t let them get you down @Thomacetti!
You’re Belgian.
Smack them with a waffle and a chocolate bar to remind them who’s boss. 💪🏻
Give them hell tomorrow!

You got this. We want all the pocket 2s calling!
Took a nice pot with 22 in BB.
I call 3bb from mid position (short with 13k) and flop comes 2610 rainbow. Het bets 2k, I raise to 8k and he jams with A10 and busts.

Next orbit I get Q8s in the BB, it gets folded to button.
He is a super agro player on his 2nd bullet, pushed his stack 3 times since I was at the table. Got called once and got lucky with A7 vs AK

He raises 2,5bb, SB folds and I call to see what the flop brings. Flop is 6q3 with 2 clubs.

Not bad, he checks and I bet 40% pot…he calls.

Turn is 6 of spade, he checks and I bet 50% pot… I am sure he is full of it. He jams…and I go in the tank.

I don’t put him on an overpair, straight or set, mainly something light or a draw. He overplayed almost every hand that was shown and bet big on every street when he has it.

Many things go trough my head…in the end I decide to trust my assessment and call.
I show my hand and he taps the table..’good call’.

He shows 57 diamonds…I can breathe again, pot is +110k. I even ask the dealer silently, ‘please…not like thaaaat’

And bam, he rivers the 7… the table reacts in disgust.

I’m tilted, this feels worse than cracked aces. My gut feeling was right and again get it in good, only to be punished in the end. No doubt this was my hero call of the trip to date…I was confident I made the right move and it could have been the start of a deep run.

Not feeling like playing anymore and going to think about how to proceed this trip. $4900 spent on 4 buy-ins and absolutely nothing to show for.

Worse about all is, I’m playing good poker…even tho my emotions tell me something different. I just want to return the trust from the backers and rail with great runs and stories.

I accept things can not always be like my previous trips…but this is just stupid.
I’ll contact my backers later today, maybe I quit this series early…

Regarding the picture, the pot you see is what was bet before the villain went AI, the majority of our chips were still behind (he went AI with one chip and I called with one). Taking pictures fucking sucks since this time I even had to ask the dealer to wait 5 sec to take a picture while disappointment was kicking in.

Two years ago, holdem, WSOP event, literally first hand of the tourney - ace high flush (flopped) busted to straight flush (flopped). As you say, that's just tournies.

Good luck the rest of the way!

Thom...we backed you because you're our friend and fellow chipper. I don't think there's a single person who backed you who feels regret or disappointment. We are all here for you and we don't want to hear this quitters mentality. We support you not for the profit but because you're one of us. Keep at it and do your best, that's all we ever wanted from you brotha. We got you my man, we got you.

From everything I’ve seen/heard, you’re far too good to get worked up about running poorly (results oriented).

If you were getting outplayed, totes get it. But…you’re not? So who cares!? Lol you should be celebrating that you’re doing so well in decision making.

Go get a burger. A beer. A blunt. And breeeeeeeathe.

I don’t wanna back you to stress you out. We wanna back you so we can join the horrible runouts and ughs and ffs’s. If we get to join you in some deep runs too, fantastic. You’re in Vegas, dropping 5 figures on some tourney shots, playing really well - for the love of god enjoy yourself  :ROFLMAO:
