Guns you own (12 Viewers)

Anyone into shotguns?

I'm probably most into wing shooting and clays. Try to get sporting clays in once a month and usually shoot skeet every wednesday

This was one major factor in my going with this platform. I utilize an AR daily, and the ability to keep my “toy” with the same nomenclature is key.

I'm not a big shotgun fan but I do shoot sporting clays once a year and I love it. I'd like to go more often but it isn't as fun doing it alone.

I have a 12 gauge. I've shot clays exactly once with my BIL's 20g. It was fun, but I don't have the time to sink in it. If you wanna do it sometime, tho, hit me up. I'd be interested in shooting your shotgun and ammo. ;)

I might even pony up for ammo and clays to replace what I shoot.

Have you been to Island Lake? They have a pretty nice looking clay area. I know Catholic Central's clay shooting team practices out there... or they did.
 
Island lake is where I shoot sporting clays once a year for a work outing. I usually borrow a co-worker's setup. We should definitely set up a range day sometime though. I think its like $40 for 50 clays and ammo. We could always hit the rifle range after if you want to shoot anything else.

The range instructors set up this beauty for us yesterday. Competition rifle battleship.

This was just the practice run. I’ve been told they intend to incorporate reactive ‘splodin targets on certain circles on the actual training days.

I enjoy clay shooting. Just bought a Trius one step clay pigeon thrower. Works great if I want to go to my range and practice on my own. I don't have a fancy shotgun though, just a Mossberg 500A. When its not in clay pigeon configuration with its 28 inch barrel its got an 18 inch barrel and a pistol grip for home defense purposes.
 
No pistolas for me, rules are quite strict in Aussie and I can't be bothered jumping the hoops. 'tho I am licensed so occasionally shoot pistol at the club if members are kind enough :)

I have a nice little Browning BL22 satin nickel and just recently purchased this Tikka 223.

I used to have a similar thrower when I lived in the sticks. Fancy shotguns aren't needed. I have a fancy waterfowl gun now and swear I shoot it worse than the old Remington I had for 15+ years

My current edc setup is the Sig P229 elite in 9mm. A Squared Away Customs holster and the Blue Alpha Gear hybrid belt.

Whoa, that’s one sexy postola. I absolutely love the beaver tail.

A neighbor recently talked me into entering a couple USPCA (I think) competitions at a nearby range. I didn’t have an appropriate gun handy, but made due with an old duty weapon (actually used it in the academy), a Sig P228 9mm. The night sights have long since gone dim, and it has around 10,000rds thru it. That, and it’d been 6 years since I’d shot it... Not the ideal competition gun, but I wound up in both competitions scoring 15 & 16th out of 30 people. I was super pleased with those results.. considering these ppl do this all the time, and they mostly had modified $6,000 super guns with zero recoil... and fancy quick draw holsters...

The "older" Sigs are highly saught after (especially the P226..). I only call them older because the German-made Sigs are just as durable, if not more so. I just recently passed the 1,000 rd. club and did so without a single issue. Recoil is almost non-existant, at least for myself. Overall, just a dream to shoot!

you picked 2 of the slickest actions out there. the bl is undoubtedly the most fun & fast lever action out there. and you'll never get your trigger finger slammed by the trigger. did that once with a winchester 30 30. Yes i am an idiot.

and the Tikka. just blow on that bolt and it closes. That's a pretty heavy barrel for a 223. Must be accurate.

Very nice choices there.

I bought the Wii version for the sole purpose of playing Duck Hunter. The orange “this is not a firearm” endpiece doubles as a clip to secure the Wii Remote.

Also, since it’s come up - I hope my posts in this thread are not perceived as trolling. While I am not personally passionate about guns, I do enjoy me some good weapon pron. That 1847 Walker, in particular, looks sick.
