Flattening Kem Cards/Acetate Cards - Did I Solve the Mystery? (3 Viewers)

Look up flower drying presses. It wouldn’t be that hard to make your own card press. New Accessory? Custom made card presses?
Mostly just a fun little thing, i riffle/bridge shuffle most of the time So paper decks stay in similar shape. But still good to flatten out small dents and strange warpage when you get them, though there's nothing like that "crunch" you get when you pull out a nice flattened deck of heavy used paper cards. Something I'll ALWAYS love about plastic is you'll never feel like you'll die of 700 different space viruses if you keep them clean, vs that crunchy pack of 54 yummies

They’re up to $75 as of today. A ridiculous price to pay for a setup. But that doesn’t change the fact that they’re the best cards in the world.
I felt bad when they went to 54, seeing the reason for both price increases is so funny. Old hat to talk about kems prices but after years of wondering why they keep going up us hilarious. Sucks because they are max stem bate, love them though when i post my card collection soon I'll be flame wared off for how feel on pre/post uspcc kems

I want to support @Old State.
For people who already have a stash of old, bent KEMs, this is a good way to restore them to playable condition and enjoy them, if people like them. Water is absolutely not needed here.
The problem with KEMs lies in their composition. They are too sensitive to moisture and temperature (which, by the way, is written on the service card below!!). Cellulose acetate is 20 times more hygroscopic than PVC. Even your breath will affect them, since the air we exhale from our lungs has 100% humidity. And trying to control these parameters (plus temperature) during baking/storage would probably drive you crazy. 🤦‍♂️
But, it's cool that I managed to restore them to shape, although KEMs are too soft for my taste.
However, I must admit that if I worked as a dealer, I would probably prefer them because of how soft they are...
