Florida, you are up next! (1 Viewer)

This is outrageous.
Floridians have a constitutional right to shoot at Hurricanes in self defense!
We also have the right to stand our ground and not get blown away.

It almost makes more sense than believing that the government controls the weather, including hurricanes. :ROFLMAO:

Was trying to follow watching an Anna Maria webcam but the link went down so now I am worried!

I've got lots of sweet chips in Tampa now. Hopefully they make it through this without damage :-). And I saw Anderson Cooper by the river today....

Definitely dodged a bullet - only the 2 trees down at home.

Still need to check the beach house, but all bridges to the island are still closed.

No major damage at work. Only lost my cupola and weathervane :( Hey, @T_Chan, do you build cupolas ?

For sure, it will have a nice padded window frame with a custom printed siding.

Glad to see you're ok.

All things considered, nearly everybody everywhere getting face time with Irma got pretty lucky compared to what could have happened.

We have trees down in communities all around us, but have managed to remain a small area that has not seen the high sustained winds - or even gusts - so far. If we can weather out the next five hours or so, it will basically have turned into a non-event for us. Not so for many, many people around the Atlanta Metro area.

That's actually scary, IMO. The media hyped this story so much that to have it fizzle will mean many won't heed warnings next time...

Just a few small minor branches fell in our backyard forest (about 40 trees, mostly Southern Pines), and a large 10-foot limb broke off a nearly-dead tree at work (landing in the back yard, but no fence damage). No other wind damage of any kind at either place. Didn't even move the lawn chairs. We were very fortunate to have missed all of the high wind gusts in our area -- no damage that I've seen in either neighborhood.

I'm currently in the Florida Keys with my unit helping out with hurricane Irma relief. We setuo ground and air comms to start the airflow so food and water can be delivered to residents. Haven't seen much of the damage outside of the airfield but it's pretty bad around here.

Cruise ports in the Keys, St. Martin, US Virgin Islands, Tortuga BVI are all closed. My cruise on Oct. 28 has been shifted to Western Caribbean ports.

Knocking on wood - - - More trouble is brewing in the Atlantic. A cat three storm looks to hit Puerto Rico dead on middle of next week. The Virgin Islands are slated to get a back-handed slap but are within the cone of uncertainty.

It is a week out from any US mainland land fall, if it hits at all. Even so I think people with interests in Florida need to keep their eyes open and for sure people in the islands need to be on high alert.

Lets hope the damn thing curves North -=- DrStrange
