It's all good. The Devils won't be making a conference final any time soon. They may win a round but Hughes isn't getting them to the promised land. Disappears when there's less room on the ice.

Probably better in the long run but Jarmo isn't much better.

They needed to be aggressive with acquiring Hughes. A guy like that with no trade protection doesn't come up often. Spare me the "but Dahlin" responses. A player like that you trade a haul for and figure it out later. Run them together 30 minutes a night or one of them on the ice for 45 of the 60.

Power, Helenius, Benson should have all been on the table for him and they probably didn't offer up any of them.

We certainly could’ve used Macleod last season, or even this one. Let’s see how it turns out long term though - Savoie‘s still only 21!

Still, I was hoping for a Tuch trade at the TDL. He’d be killer on this team.

Yeah, not sure he's here for much longer. Although, maybe Adams being here still was the reason he hasn't signed. Guess we'll see.

We tend to have this effect from time to time. Sorry about that. If it's any consolation we're brothers in arms (1970), and neither of us are making the playoffs. Go us!
 
It's impressive that the last time the Sabres hired a GM with any past experience I was 1 years old and Scotty Bowman was the general manager. Let that sink in, that was 46 years ago. What is this franchise?

Thought he was ranting about the Rangers until he started mentioning names.

Call me crazy, but the Devils are still in a way better position than the Rangers. The Devils can clear the dead money of Kovacevic, Hamilton, Palat, Marino et al if they waive their NMC's or via buyout. They have great young players in the Hughes brothers, Nemec, Mercer, and that goalie at BU.

The Rangers have Perreault and a bunch of aging garbage. Shesterkin and Fox going on the IR has become a yearly occurrence.
 
I agree man, you guys should be fine. I'm less up to speed on the Rangers but what you say sounds right to me.

Besides, we've had our own problems and that's enough to think about the last 15 years.
