As a lifelong Oilers fan, who grew up watching a team that couldn't afford to keep star players, then barely being able to keep the team in Edmonton, then losing the 2006 SCF vs. Carolina, then 10+ years without playoffs, then hiring incompetent GM after incompetent GM, then losing B2B SCF vs. Florida, then wondering if the Oilers generationally bad front office is going to piss away the luck of having two generationally good players in McDavid and Draisaitl....

Yeah, hockey does that.

As a lifelong Sabres fan, who grew up watching a team that couldn't afford to keep star players, then barely being able to keep the team in Buffalo, then losing 4 straight superbowls, then 17 years without playoffs, then hiring incompetent GM after incompetent GM for both teams, then 14 straight years missing the playoffs, then wondering if the Sabres generationally bad front office is going to piss away the luck of having multiple super high first rd draft pics....

We're basically the same person.

Between watching my Oilers lose consecutive Stanley Cup Finals, to watching my Blue Jays lose the WS in 7 this year to this, I think I may need to stop cheering for sports teams.

Too many men is a discretion call. If the puck is shot in to a person coming off the ice, the ref can swallow the whistle.

Doesn’t really matter. Canada had their chances and didn’t bury them. It sucks, because Canada dominated otherwise, but that’s sports.

Getting pretty tired of watching Matthew Tkachuk celebrate victories over my teams though.
