Totally lost it when they brought his kids out for team pictureI started to cry when they showed the guys with Johnny Gaudreau's jersey.

Nice gesture. I missed everything after the winning goal - I couldn’t turn my tv off fast enough.Totally lost it when they brought his kids out for team picture
Yup, cried again when I saw thatTotally lost it when they brought his kids out for team picture
Canada dominated otherwise
I had a terrible feeling going into 3v3 overtime that that would have happened.
3v3 overtime is fun, but in most cases it's a coin flip in deciding a game.
Really? Celebrating your win is thinking you are the center of the universe? Because I watched Canada do a lot of celebrating over the years.Worse than losing the game is seeing Americans online go feral thinking they are the center of the universe as always![]()
Lol, it's only been 46 years guys, 50 was the cut off for celebration and gloating.
Oh for sure it should have favoured us. But when your goalie is stopping everything doubt sets in. The Americans played underdogs and it worked. Point is the 3v3 makes it like a coin flip for either team. Miss the net and the puck will swing around and create a 2 on 1 the other way.I think everyone else, certainly in the US, felt different. I thought 3-on-3 played to Canada's strength, speed and depth.
I'm talking more broadly, like in NHL games. And I was actually surprised this was the format for medal games, definitely doesn't feel right. Is it even fun? It creates chances, but it's a different game. One you get out of round-r9bim okay, make it full OT, 5-on-5.
Celebrating is wonderful, it's the gloating and taunting is what I'm referring to. Not saying it's on this forum BTW lol, when I say "online" I'm mostly referring to twitter and instagram. And I have a bias, but time and time again when the Americans win (ie Stanley cup, internationally etc) it definitely gives them a big head ha and there's just a different reaction I see across the board.Really? Celebrating your win is thinking you are the center of the universe? Because I watched Canada do a lot of celebrating over the years.
Still no silver trophy for Matthews... Marner got it, though.Austin bringing the gold home to Toronto is gonna be weird. All you degens, what are the Vegas odds they acknowledge his win in their first home game?
Matthews was a net negative in the Gold medal game. As expected.Austin bringing the gold home to Toronto is gonna be weird. All you degens, what are the Vegas odds they acknowledge his win in their first home game?
Shoulder injuries to guys whose calling card is scoring goals is a death sentence for their long term prospects. He'll play but I don't think he'll ever touch 50 goals in a season again.Matthews was a net negative in the Gold medal game. As expected.
Agreed. And missing Sid hurt the Canadians (even with as much depth as they had).Matthews was a net negative in the Gold medal game. As expected.
Touche. My guy Tage had the least amount of ice time for the forwards I think. Still not entirely sure why but probably speed and defensive play, there are superior players to him in that regard.Matthews was a net negative in the Gold medal game. As expected.
Terrible, but funny lol.
How could you possibly take what I said that way lol? Go get your own giant!!!If you're giving up on Thompson, we'll take him in Detroit. Same for Werenski... Shame to see those careers wasted.
The only people laughing at that are south of the border.
North of the border here... I cringed (then forwarded it to the rest of the 'mericans). The only people laughing at that are south of the border.
Maybe we could go back to an Olympic sized rink too. That hurt the Canadians as well in the GMG. Not that they ran out of ice, but they had more speed...I really hope they do away with 3 on 3 in Olympic hockey and the NHL.
Olympic size ice hurts the viewers most of all.Maybe we could go back to an Olympic sized rink too. That's hurt the Canadians as well.
You’re Canadian!?North of the border here... I cringed (then forwarded it to the rest of the 'mericans).
