Yeah, the rink was shorter. Was noticeable in the CAN-FIN semi-final. Teams that just sit back and clog up the middle, like Finland, seemed to be able to take advantage of that a bit more with the shorter neutral zone.

I've been wanting this in the NHL for a while now.

Especially with OT being 3v3 now. 3v3 is fun but not the best way to say who was the better team that night. What's a good way to show who played better? 60 minutes of hockey...lol

Having the 3-2-1 system would make the luck of 3v3 less important in the standings while also letting games in the regular season end in a fun and timely fashion.

Totally agree. Here is this if you never saw it. I like to see how the standings would be different using the 3-2-1 system. The problem is the NHL cares way too much about tradition I think. I get it though, I'm a traditionalist. I want organ music only at games, white boards, fighting, etc. not a fan of the structure the way it is now or the playoff structure.

That's a sick cite for visuals. I love how standings aren't wildly different but it demotes some teams for playing only defence and bringing games to OT.

And ya, the NHL is full of the old guard. I'm probably younger than you so I actually don't hate ads on boards, I even don't hate the digital ads, but I do hate when they move mid game, despicable. I also hate ads on players jerseys/helmets. Players and the teams make enough money, so much greed.

The NHL cares about the false illusion of parity and keeping playoff races tight until the end.

I'm all for a system where regulation wins are worth 3 pts, with OT/SO wins being worth 2 and the loser getting 1 point. The current system that makes some games worth more points than others is stupid.
 
I’ve never been much of a hockey fan, but always love those toppers/felts when I see them.

Was pulling for you guys in 2011 though. My situationship at the time was from southern New Hampshire and a pretty insufferable Bruins fan.

He's a bum. I think he's been playing hurt all year but I've been less than impressed with him in both this go round and his first one.

I do think that if Trocheck gets dealt (they're best friends), his petulant side becomes more apparent and he asks out of New York too. I'll laugh my ass off if he ends up back in Tampa for a song again.
