The word you are looking for is “efficient” and for sure you are the first to ever mention the 4x/5x rule… we are all aware trust me and technically for those very specific stakes you are not wrong to use a $2 over a $1… I would even buy a set as something different, but again those are very specific stakes and far from cover everything!

I am willing to bet everyone here has played in $1/$2 home games and would even bet those are the most common home stakes or $1/$1 because the majority do not use fracs… but how do we play $1/$1 or $1/$2 with your beautifully amazing cover everything stakes… Jesus what would you do for $2/$5?

Very similarly could be said about the T1k chip jump from T500… a x2 increase just sucks, but is accepted as the norm. Doesn’t mean others haven’t gone to a T2k and T10k for “efficiency”… cough, cough

(I did not design this or the plaques would be 10k and ai do plan to have them re made) as far as Efficiency ehh I just don’t see the big deal, but I love changing it up and messing with the mind sometimes. Experienced players are used to their routines and structure and just the slightest change can’t tilt and throw them off!

i don’t think very many people want to play with those nonstandard denominations. I’m sure you could get used to anything after a while, but why?

Had to go look up prims. Oh yeah I like it a enough. Specifically the $1s. White but funky, matches well with $5s, could play with almost any fracs.

Okay, I don’t mind this set. The last 50 times I’ve seen them I’ve seen secondaries.

All shaped too. Happy to be wrong! I’ll take a set. (Wouldn’t be a keeper since I’m retired and only have 2-4 cash sets, but I can see why some folks like them, still not for market price these days)

I mean yeah I guess that’s the rub.

We could probably say there isn’t a worthwhile set that’s…actually worth the money for it.

I just like chips, they’re cool. I liked the radissons. Always wanted one of those oak tree sets or tonkawa sets. LOVED the outposts (Pacheco I think?), LOVED the…..indian themed chips Forrest got with the yellow $2s (before I joined). Really dig the Olivia’s. Ooooo those oversized label chips with the jungle designs and cursive writing, where the upper denoms are oversized? Coke giraffes.

All amazing fun chip sets, and imo far better than all the boring stuff that’s more popular.

These days, I probably wouldn’t even pay 1/2 of what would be asked for them, maybe more like 1/4. Hopefully not all of them are collecting dust in closets.

But if you agree with many chippers that we're talking about the very best chips to handle, then your objections are a waste of time. There just aren't a lot of sets that fit that description, so the ones that do - they're all goats.

30,000 - 50,000 pca $5s released. With so many goats, we need more shepherds!

(I had a longer response, but I don’t disagree with you. Yet, I sold Ballys $5s at a loss because no one wanted…..shaped, textured inlay Housemold thcs.

There’s what PCF says, and then what PCF does. And the 2 aren’t even remotely close.)
