Change your profile picture to a $2 chip then0.1/0.5/2/10 is the best breakdown for most recreational home games and allows you to spread the most buy ins and greatest variety of games. A shame more sets aren't constructed using the breakdown.

i don’t think very many people want to play with those nonstandard denominations. I’m sure you could get used to anything after a while, but why?0.1/0.5/2/10 is the best breakdown for most recreational home games and allows you to spread the most buy ins and greatest variety of games. A shame more sets aren't constructed using the breakdown.
Halfway through reading this I couldn't tell if this was a hate post or an interesting expression of chipping love. Enjoyed it either way.View attachment 1566087
(lol) Willing to bet this guy loves 8/8/6/6 starting stacks for tournies as well… “spread the most buy ins and greatest variety of games” I would ask you to explain but really I think we have heard enough.
The word you are looking for is “efficient” and for sure you are the first to ever mention the 4x/5x rule… we are all aware trust me and technically for those very specific stakes you are not wrong to use a $2 over a $1… I would even buy a set as something different, but again those are very specific stakes and far from cover everything!
I am willing to bet everyone here has played in $1/$2 home games and would even bet those are the most common home stakes or $1/$1 because the majority do not use fracs… but how do we play $1/$1 or $1/$2 with your beautifully amazing cover everything stakes… Jesus what would you do for $2/$5?
“Well you use more $.50 chips” NOT!
I love $40 but in $.10/$.20 stakes pot limit for circus games especially with people that are just learning. Here is a beautiful set for $.10/$.20

Very similarly could be said about the T1k chip jump from T500… a x2 increase just sucks, but is accepted as the norm. Doesn’t mean others haven’t gone to a T2k and T10k for “efficiency”… cough, cough

(I did not design this or the plaques would be 10k and ai do plan to have them re made) as far as Efficiency ehh I just don’t see the big deal, but I love changing it up and messing with the mind sometimes. Experienced players are used to their routines and structure and just the slightest change can’t tilt and throw them off!
And done. Stand behind my opinionChange your profile picture to a $2 chip then
I like the Monte Carlos. Now Monte Carlo chips can claim they look just like real casino chips.

I'll go. Rounders chips are boring and look terrible! I really don't get the appeal other than them being in a 6/10 movie.
Hey, it's the controversial thread for a reason
My issue here is the 6/10 rating.I'll go. Rounders chips are boring and look terrible! I really don't get the appeal other than them being in a 6/10 movie.
6.5?My issue here is the 6/10 rating.

The secondary $25's are the best of the lineup, and those would hardly hit the table in my home game.PCAs are the Jacks of thcs.
I’ll give the 1/5/25 with solid spot progression.
But unless you have $1ks hitting the table, the cash set is just “okay cool chips”.
(Similar to my argument regarding jacks, I’m saying set out 20 thc sets and have either laymen or design/artist folks pick out their favorite - I’d bet that pca’s wildly underperform in comparison to their cost, and honestly think they would underperform even without taking cost into consideration).
Cool chips, I’d own a set, but like JACKS chips I don’t see any intangibles or unique aspects that make it better than many others.
I previously used to agree, but name another available casino leaded THC shaped inlay w a true red $5. Another example of supply and demand overvaluing a set.PCAs are the Jacks of thcs.

But unless you have $500s and up hitting the table, the cash set is just “okay cool chips”.

Idk all the chips well enough. The secondary $25's are the best of the lineup, and those would hardly hit the table in my home game.
If we're talking $1 and $5 primaries not in bike tyre condition, this conversation changes dramatically.
I mean yeah I guess that’s the rub.I previously used to agree, but name another available casino leaded THC shaped inlay w a true red $5. Another example of supply and demand overvaluing a set.
The tourney set is on point though.PCAs are the Jacks of thcs.

do you have no appreciation for textured and shaped inlay, leaded THCs in excellent to near mint condition? Because it's fine if you don't care for them. But if you agree with many chippers that we're talking about the very best chips to handle, then your objections are a waste of time. There just aren't a lot of sets that fit that description, so the ones that do - they're all goats.PCAs are the Jacks of thcs.

30,000 - 50,000 pca $5s released. With so many goats, we need more shepherds!do you have no appreciation for textured and shaped inlay, leaded THCs in excellent to near mint condition? The onliest objection I'll hear about the PCAs is that the $1s are RHCs. But leaded, textured RHCs are actually kinda cool.
