Just bottle popped my first Japanese Whiskey - Hibiki Japanese Harmony.
It’s kind of fruity, maybe pear on the palate. Definitely oak and honey on the finish.
Smooth, and decently flavorful, maybe a little light and not very complex. Overall a nice whiskey.

I’ve had that and it’s fantastic! Well..at least it was when I had it last
My only problem is that after I had my stroke last fall, bourbons and ryes taste so damn sour to me. Irish and Scotch, especially heavily peated, taste great to me. I think the wood tannins from the virgin oak in bourbon/rye is what isn’t playing nice anymore. My doctor said some tastes might not ever be the same for me. It’s been a very strange last 4-5 months for me.
