One of my all-time favorite musicians is Baker, who had a significant impact on me during my early years. I highly recommend watching the documentary about him titled "Beware Mr. Baker." You can find some portions of it on YouTube.

This might be the best Southern Rock/Blues band of the past 5ish years. Unfortunately they broke up and the frontman, Travis McCready is dealing with some legal issues for drug possession. I really hope he reassembles a similar band and records some new material. He has one of the most distinctive voices in music today.

For some reason, been listening to lots of Irish folk music recently. Must be because it's St. Paddy's day next Friday (not really, I just like how it sounds).

The Theo Von podcast song!

Check out Hermitage Green, or my cousin's band Band of Rogues. Very different styles but both fantastic Irish music.

Not at all. He’s a comedian.
I watch a lot of music videos on YouTube. Fairly often I'll see a comment saying "Who's here because of Theo?" I always wondered who they were referring to. I guess he's popular with a certain demographic, but probably not grey haired old 1970s rockers like me...

I don't listen to anything recent, but maybe aging myself and go back to 80-90's where the music was actually easier to understand and listen to.
Many one hit wonders are in my play list for the gym.
A Toronto based band that does covers of 80's-90's+ songs of many famous bands and singers and many of the aforementioned one hit wonders. They also write and sing their own music. Emma has great vocals backed up with good musicians. The band is called "A Short Walk to Pluto"

Here are a few short You tubes of the band and a few of the songs from some of the bands they cover.
Nirvana, The Outfield, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Tom Cochrane, 54-40, No Doubt, Rush, 4 Non Blondes, Kenny Loggins, etc etc.
Here are a few shorts of them.

I'm sorta like you, but probably older. I don't care for most current music. At least not what is wildly popular. But I make it my goal to find those few newer artists who still produce quality music that old rockers like myself can enjoy. In my opinion, most of the best new music today is coming from independent artists, not the bands that are promoted by the big record companies and get tons of airplay.
