So, I've officially begun thinking about my Halloween party for next year. The big thing with my parties is the invitation. I like to put a lot of work into them, and really gross out/surprise the guests.

Two years ago I made 50 severed toes and mailed them to everyone, with a toe tag attached that had the details of the party on it.

This past party I made a custom 8 page newspaper that told the story of my theme (Arachnid Museum/Spiders)

Now on to 2022. I've always wanted to do something like a Classified File/Dossier for every guest and mail it to them. With photos of them, documents about them, some parts redacted/blacked out, fingerprints, etc. I think people would be pretty weirded out to get that in the mail.

I've been thinking a lot about the Colonel Kurtz dossier from Apocalypse Now.

I don't have the full idea flushed out yet. I'm still not quite sure how this would all fit into my halloween theme, and how it would become an invitation to the party. But that will come.

I'm going to take pictures of people when the opportunities present themselves, to try to get some long distance/candid photos, and edit them to look like security camera photos

I just wanted to post this here, because PCF is such an amazing community, I thought there's a chance some people here are just as crazy as me, and possibly would have some ideas, or know of some resources that would be helpful.

Happy Halloween!

You could turn this into a party game. Make the dossiers be invitations, but also include info about another invited guest or group of guests. Kind of like werewolf or Among Us. The only hitch would be if the person included in their dossier declined the invitation. Maybe have the invitation be one dossier, and then they get another one when they show up with their 'target'.

Anybody have experience with background check websites?

I've looked into a couple, like BeenVerified, and True People Search. They all want you to sign up for a monthly membership to see the good stuff. Wondering if there's a good free option out there.

This problem is solved by simply going next level and abducting all of the guests.

Going to be hillarious when you find out one of your guests likes to hump telephone poles and indecently exposed themselves to a fire hydrant. I’m sure it’ll be fine knowing everything about every guest though. What could possibly go wrong?

This......is....amazing! Thanks for sharing.

For my last party, I made a website for the Arachnid Museum, it had a few clever tricks in it, but nothing like this.
Lol that thing was almost a year long. Lots of activities across the US.

(Crunches popcorn while realizing that this is how most of my wife’s Homicide Investigations TV shows starts)
OMG I was thinking the exact same thing, I even started hearing that creepy death channel narrator's voice while reading the thread lol

Following along, these parties sound like a trip

Just an update.

My idea is evolving. My last 3 Halloween parties have sort of created this storyline in a fictional town "Rondy" , and have involved a fictional bad guy named "Dr. A" (which is me). A couple years ago Dr. A was running the Rondy Morgue, and was under investigation for violations of the mortuary code. That year I decorated my house like a morgue. This past Halloween I had this whole story line about how Dr. A. was arrested for his crimes, his wife left him (coincidentally her name is also Dr. A, my wife.), and she is now working as a scientist at the Rondy Arachnid Museum.

So now I'm thinking of continuing the story with Dr. A having escaped from prison, at this point he's fully deranged, maybe seeking revenge...? I don't have the exact theme nailed down yet, but I'm somewhere in the world of Silence of the Lambs / Se7en. He's stalking his prey, he's obsessed with collecting human body parts...something like that.

So, I think I like the idea of him mailing creepy things to the guests, in installments. Like the photos of them, not sure what else.

I still want to do the dossier idea, but I think I'm going to make the dossier on him, and that also gets mailed to the guests. That will be a lot less work, only have to make 1 version.

Also, I made a fake human kidney prop which I'm really happy with. I think I'll display it next to some fava beans, and a nice Chianti....

Maybe Dr. A could be posing as a detective or federal agent. He was able to steal their credentials to dig up dirt on the guests and is using the stolen identity to get revenge.

Your fake Kidney looks fantastic...except they are slightly darker in real life.

Regarding your Apocalypse Now Theme perhaps you could be Colonel Kurtz and your players could be those soldiers in the boat on their river cruise.... with multiple stops on the way

Or you could do an tribute to the greatest video game of all time Super Mario Brothers Oregon Trail

DOS-Oregon Trail -- click the link for a playable DOS version just like you played on that Apple School computer when you were a kid...this is actually the upgraded version. Prepare to be bitten by snakes, dying of starvation, drowning, robbed, etc...... If you ever make it down the Oregon trail let everyone know I've never survived.

You need to do a James Bond themed party one year!

Dr. A is set on world domination and has invited several seedy billionaires to his casino to help fund and launch his new weather control satellite. One or two of your guests play the role of the super spy(s) and the rest are the nefarious billionaires with their part to play. Can your guests discover Dr. A's plan and stop him and his dastardly Casino manager, the deadly Countess Mingewell?

Maybe someone can lend you some CDIs and you set your house up as the Casino De Isthmus.
