Paymaster - Custom GOCC cash set (7 Viewers)

These pics are all Paymaster. The gentleman who contacted us also has more pictures of my father's cars before he received the sponsorship from Munroe Zeder. He is going to look through his files and send them as well.

Dude, these are just too cool.... you must be thrilled beyond words!

Love the whitewall slicks.

This should work well. I was going to do a GOCC tribute set to my cat Pumpkin. After John has your set worked out I'll just have him photoshop Pumpkin's head into the cars on all the chips and I'll have the Pumpmaster set.

I don't know Jack. I think you have the potential to take Pumpmaster in a VERY different direction.

Sketch kills. Can't wait to see the ultimate chips.

I'm ass-uming the final version will have more Starter Girl.

I'm waiting for feedback from John on what we need to make this work on a chip. I believe we will need to remove the lines she's got in the background and just drop in the cars. I'd also love to have Paymaster written on the door.

But yeah I did a fist pump when I saw these. Tonally she is nailing it.

I sent a series of suggestions for her for each chip. This is her version of the one I titled "taking off" . Here are some of the other ideas I had for her.

Soooo....

I think I'm back to square one. The artist I had hand draws everything which doesn't fit in with the graphic elements of the chip. Basically the art stands out like a sore thumb when you try adding it in.

I am getting actually depressed by this. Having a super hard time figuring out how to make this work.

Chin up. Even Van Gogh painted over his old paintings to get to the good stuff. Keep at it.

Just depressing how hard this is to put together. I have to find a totally new artist now as mine doesn't work in vector graphics. John is trying someone although I have no idea how promising it is. Really starting to be unsure if I will be able to put what I want together. Anyone know a graphics illustrator?

Thanks guys, I don't want to step on John's toes as I know he reached out to someone already. If if need some referrals I will come back here and let you know. It just put me in the dumps when I found out I wouldn't be able to use the lady I have been working with.

If you like the drawing style of the girl/lady you could always find someone who can vectorize the art for you in illustrator.
It's a bit of work but it isn't that hard as you "only" have to trace the existing art.
There are a few places on the web where people offer this kind of service.

I liked it in a vacuum. It looks good he problem is once you add the non hand drawn elements on a chip it clashes. I think I may have a graphics artist on the hook already though.

If you need a contact let me know, hes not the cheapest, but his work is outrageous, and fast!

Thank you. @Forty4 has also generously offered to reach out to someone he knows. I know J5 was talking to someone he felt was promising. Also I sent an email to Ian Greathead. He is the artist who lives a few houses down from me and also did this painting being raffled at S@P

I figured it was a long shot with him being a painter but it turns out graphics illustration is his second skill. I am going to his house to have a discussion tonight. If both Ian and John's contact fall through I will definitely follow up with you on the artist you have worked with. Thanks for the assistance guys!

Ok so here's a question. Several of these vignettes will feature two cars. My father's and the other car which in keeping with this site we will refer to as "villain."

For villain it will be the same car featured on all the scenes. A lot of the cars used in the early 1960s looked very similar to my father's Plymouth Belvedere. (Such as the Ford Lightweight) i think I'd like the other car to have a somewhat distinctive look to set it apart. I'm considering a 1963 Shelby Cobra as an example

Thoughts? Or do any race geeks here have another idea?

Did he have a particular nemesis?

Why not diff villain cars per denom?

Not really. A lot of the pics I have have cars that look very similar to his. In this instance I am willing to take some liberties in the interest of appearance

Well villain will probably show up on two to three of the chips and the dealer button. One of my ideas was have it almost be like a continuation of one race. Starting line, take off etc. so for that you'd want them to all be one car. Conceivably nothing saying I have to do that though. It might cost me less if I'm not having the artist render a whole gaggle of different cars but then again given that we will be changing the angle a lot it might not make any difference at all.
