I think it was just a bunch of dirty Canadians back in the day being damn sneaky and tricking Americans into thinking crappy pork loin was a type of bacon.

We've had some twists and turns, but yeah in the end this thread culminated into donuts. There is even now an official donut thread elsewhere.
