I have read many times that casino chips have been destroyed when the properties that use them decide to get newer ones.
I know this is true for Vegas with regulation 12.
You guys know way more about this kind of stuff than i do.
Will there ever be another huge lot of used casino chips? And how does someone get a hold of the chips from a casino when they get newer ones.
I have talked with people who got huge lots from indian casinos in the early 90's, i imagine things have changed since then on how to go about it.
Is it true that the chips would have to come from a native american property or a riverboat nowadays?
Sometimes I read old CT threads and see how much people were buying and selling Aztars, PCA, empress, par a dice, etc.
and the amounts of chips. People getting chips for so cheap and in such great quantities. Not to mention the home market sets. It trips me out how cheap they were.
There are so few sets of 1000 or 1000+ chips out there for sale. When I see a lot of 300 chips getting charged at by eager bidders at like 1.50-2.00 a chip I wonder if there will ever be another glory day for chip enthusiasts.
It all seems really sad to me.
Thoughts?
