For context, I live in Newfoundland, Canada and we don't have any casinos or legal card rooms here. My local-ish casino is Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax. I visit there 1-2 times per year and usually make at least one trip to the poker room while I'm there.

My question is: Are these chips worth harvesting? From what I can tell, they are a Bud Jones type of chip. I honestly hate the way they feel, but these chips and this casino is my nearest option for harvesting chips.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

No I would say not. The face value of the $5+ chips would go a long way to a nice Paulson set (or other nice chipset).
We have limited options in Canada but I suggest waiting for another one of Jim's sales or a full set sold on this site (to make shipping most cost effective).

Jim's sales? Who is Jim? I'm relatively new around these parts and am not familiar with who that is.

Such ugly chips, they are not worth harvesting IMHO
I used these chips in a few casinos Europe, they are quite slippery
single chips from Nuovo Casino in Chisinau, Moldova. Chips are denominated in USD
Nice color, very slippery chips (snapper and 10 are very nice)

Thechiproom is a member "Jim" who has network connections to buy casino sets and then resells those sets to folks here. In the last few years he has held 2-3 sales per year +/-. His sales are often the best prices around, with many sets seen here on PCF. Past recent sales have included HSI, Jumer, Diamond Jack, JACK casino chips etc...

Not all Casino chips are the same. In Canada it seems most Casinos are using those plastic slippery things now.
