Waaaaaaaaay back in 2004, I bought a set of expensive poker chips on eBay. They felt like genuine clay though I know now that they are not. I don't know much about them, but they have CASINO inscribed on them and they were much heavier than your average chip. Real fun to stack and shuffle.

Anyway, 2004 was like forever ago (edit: 20 year ago... woah), so I am looking to upgrade to a modern, more stylish, exciting poker chip. What chip(s) are the best to own in 2024? For context, my home game is a .25/.50 game where the most money in play on any given night would be roughly $1,000. We use .25s, $1s, $5s and $25s.

Any suggestions, links would be appreciated. I am in Canada, so I would prefer to buy from North of the border if possible, but will consider all buying options.

Knew I forgot something. Budget is right around $800-$1,000. I'll edit my post. Thanks!
Not enough for CPC nor most good condition Clay / Paulson chips. Most Casino-grade Plastic is also out.

But with your budget definitely, you can get

- Custom Ceramic Chips (BR-Pro, Sun-fly, Tina)
- Nice Used Paulson Chips (RHC)
- Casino-grade Plastic (example)

Could get around a 600 chip set of Jack Cincy or Diamond Jack for that, no?

If you scrape around you might be able to do good condition casino clay:

$195 for a rack of Rivers quarters (can't find the link)
$130 for a rack of Boston Encore $1s https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...-casino-chips-1-rack-of-sharp-1-chips.113957/
$200 for two racks of DiamondJacks $5s (TCR BF -- you'd probably pay a premium now. https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/three-racks-diamond-jacks-5-rhc-mint-unused.114526/ )
$100 for a rack of DiamondJacks $25s (TCR BF -- unlikely to be seen at this price but maybe a small premium)
